It's easy, and only takes a few moments. How would they afford him, considering other needs, and why would they take away from reps for Stidham and/or the potential of a new QB via the draft? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Agreed. Not only “success” but he’s had his best statistical games of his career against NE. Unlike some, I’m not opposed to having Cam in NE, but I would like to see what Stidham can do.BB likes guys who’ve had success against him.
Newton is 2-0 against him.
Wouldn’t shock me if they had interest in him.
How many of those games was Jordan Richards on the field and targeted?Agreed. Not only “success” but he’s had his best statistical games of his career against NE. Unlike some, I’m not opposed to having Cam in NE, but I would like to see what Stidham can do.

Richards damn sure wasn’t there in 2013. While the refs surely screwed up that Kuechly/Gronk call, Cam still tore us up in that game. How many of those games was Jordan Richards on the field and targeted?
I remember how bad our defense was against Mobile QBs.Richards damn sure wasn’t there in 2013. While the refs surely screwed up that Kuechly/Gronk call, Cam still tore us up in that game.

If they don’t have much money to spend, didn’t extend Brady and they didn’t accept any of the trade requests that were offered at the position, it would seem likely that they’re going to see what last year’s mid round draft pick has to offer. That may even mean another selection in this year’s draft, but I doubt it.Perhaps we should trade Gilmore so that Williams can get more reps.

1) We have the cap money. There are many sources of the $8M of 2020 or less that it could take. Look at McCourty's deal if you want to know how to do this.
2) Personally, being competitive in 2020 is an important goal, and making transactions that Belichick thinks will give us more wins makes sense to me.
3) Not signing or keeping a veteran because backups might not get enough reps doesn't make sense to me.
4) I don't know whether Cam is healthy enough and will fit in well enough. That is for Bill to judge.
MY OWN POSITION
How would folks feel if we signed a 5 year extension with Thuney and used the cap money to sign a 5 year contract with Cam (or Winston)? Personally, I think that the team's chances of being in the playoffs in 2020 and in 2021 would be much higher than it is now.
Obviously, Bill may decide that he already has a franchise quarterback and secured him at a place in the draft that would make this one of the best picks in 20 years. Or not.

The object is to build a competitive team in the middle of a rebuilding phase. Bringing in a broken down QB who’s been mediocre to begin with doesn’t make much sense, particularly when you factor in the cost.
As it stands, they have very little at WR, TE, QB, DL, LB, and no kicker. Most of those positions require multiple players, and that’s not addressing RB. Paying Cam Newton to be a bridge QB seems like a terrible idea, but that’s obviously just my opinion and I could be wrong.
Should really be 0-2, but the point remains valid...BB likes guys who’ve had success against him.

Won or lost, both times he’s made the D look like Swiss cheese.Should really be 0-2, but the point remains valid...
Trick question. If Jordan Richards is on the field, he’s getting targeted. How many of those games was Jordan Richards on the field and targeted?

With what money? There are major holes at every position, aside from OL and CB. Those positions need to be addressed, too.Depth..? Its all about his eval. Need to set up 25 Cam cams.. study like crazy what his capability is now... hes big, he can throw.. the potential has to be investigated.
If #1 overall talent drops in your lap for a retooling rehab... um... check it out..IMO

Ask the capologists. Question is how much.? If he is still real good, then the numbers can be worked out. Based on value. If not, bubye...
