Based on what? He never played a real down of football here, and was awful by every single account of training camp.

You're right. It appears he was a victim of the new DL coach Bielema (who Michael Bennett also didn't like) and was immediately picked up by our former DLine coaching star Brendan Daly over in KC. It's weird bc he was always a good DT, I guess it shows how much it matters that your position coach has your back or not.

The weird thing is he was considered a classic Patriots type FA target by a lot of people including myself, so when he actually did sign here, it seemed like a slam dunk, which made the way it ended even sadder and harder to explain.

I guess Bielema really is that bad.

Taje Sharpe to Vikings

That leaves 2 decent FR WRs left that I know of that we could sign and make some impact.

Look at that list Cousins....
Is there any player there we can't live without?

Is there a player on this list we could not get to be a roster filler in the Draft and saved our money?....and we are not a great Drafting club for sure.

This is the FA period. Raise your hand if you think you could have made better roster selections than these third string pick ups.

This isn't all on BB. He has a Director of Pro Personnel Brian Smith who is the culprit in part.
Please imagine this:

He is at home selecting players. or "binkies" he likes on his Lap Top like we might do. "Ohh I like this guy" or "Nah, if we pick this guy up it's likely to show up so-and-so on our Team"

Is there anyone on this forum who does not believe he or she can do better than "DT Allen, WR Byrd, OLB Copeland, S C. Davis, QB Hoyer, S Phillips, FB Vitale"?

Just one signing Mr. Smith...just one that we can say as Bill might say...."We think he will give us the best chance to win"

How about:

Wolfe-Exactly the diversity BB seeks in a D lineman
Griffen-32 with a chip on his shoulder. Helps take up Collins and KVN sack numbers
Suh- 33 but is still a going concern for offenses. Could light it up here and would be cheap
Tim Jernigan-Only 27 but can be dominant but for past injuries
Markus Golden LB-10 sacks for the miserable Giants (reminds me of the Anderson signing)
Kamalei Correa-Would be great solid pick up at LB for Pats
Rishard Higgins WR- He would be a starter day one
Corey Coleman WR-Former first-rounder only 25. A BB reclamation of a blue-chip. 4.42 40.
Demarkus Robinson WR Proven WR over Draft kids.

Trades? I know that word is foreign to you Mr. Smith ..........but:

David Njoku TE Perhaps in a Trade as the Browns picked up Hooper.
Adam Shaheen TE. A failed second-rounder who is still a better TE than what we have in a trade with the Bears for perhaps a 6th. He has had injuries. He's still young. His catch percentage is still almost 80%Only 25

Did you really expect the Patriots to spend even moderate bucks on a wide receiver?
Same for a tight end. Don't expect them to invest high draft picks on pass catchers. Brady had to leave the Patriots to have decent pass catchers.

I like that he went to college a short drive from where I live, but we're talking about a Dorsett tier receiver.

Which we need someone to catch passes from Jarret or god help us Hoyer.
Higgins and Robinson is left and I would desperately try to sign both if we aren’t reading for any WRs.
Coleman resigned with the Giants as a special teamer I read.

This list lines up with mine as best players left besides Coleman reportedly going back to the Giants.

Wouldn't hate Higgins or Robinson, but wouldn't pay much for either of them.

Are people forgetting that we already had Corey Coleman once and he couldn't even stay on our practice squad?

We just invested a high pick on one last season.

It remains to be seen if he is a complete bust. Twelve catches for 105 yards over
the regular season.

Nice! Our defense is shaping up to be pretty good.

Oops wrong forum.
Do you remember the quote the Pats leaked from the post-2018 AFC title game win? Marcus Cannon and Shaq Mason were really excited about facing Suh, they weren’t worried about him at all....

All kidding aside, I'm happy he's on Brady's side because I used to fear playing against him. I always felt he was out to hurt Brady.

Ironically, he had a slightly bigger impact in the SB than Donald. He actually had a pretty decent game.
