There has never been a better time to be an ex-Patriot with so many teams having a Pats connection.

I wouldn't be surprised if Aaron Dobson gets signed by the Lions or Dolphins.

Speaking of the crazy dolphins they are really going for it

They reportedly offered to give Clowney 17 Million a year but he turned it down he wants more money reportedly.

Hard to when BB plan for TE is Ben ****ing Watson. Also have a mediocre run game to go with that and oh don’t forget about our WR core of Harry/Sanu/Edelman. Defensive coordinators must’ve been laughing watching our game tape

Why are you ignoring the other 5 VETERAN TEs that the Pats brought in? HMM? Seriously. You and others act like they only signed Watson. You ignore Austin Sefarian-Jenkins, Lance Kendricks, Eric Saubert, Michael Roberts, and LaCosse. How is BB supposed to know that ASJ is going to ask to be released? That Watson and Kendricks are BOTH going to get suspensions and that Saubert isn't going to be able to handle #3 TE duties?

And let's not forget that Gronkowski is the one who screwed the Patriots over with his dilly-dallying on making his decision. If he's just come right out and said it, Cook would have signed with the Pats. He said as much.

The run game was only mediocre because of the injuries to Develin, Johnson, Andrews, Wynn, Mason and Cannon. No big deal there right... Once they went to using Roberts as the FB and had a healthy Wynn, the running game got better. I expect it to be better this year with Vitale and a healthy O-line.

???

He was OK on special teams.
Yeah I was being tongue in cheek lol. Barely remember anything he did outside of being on the roster.

It is sometimes difficult to know when folks are being sarcastic.

I can't think of any way I'd give Clowney more than $17m, and that includes if a gun were pointed at my head.

Alot of people would disagree with you. It worked out so no worries either way, and I do see the logic in what he did. It wasn't pure stupidity, but it doesn't make him a genius. It certainly wasn't blatantly obvious either, but keep talking in absolutes if that's what you like. Many people would say giving the ball to Manning in OT is dangerous regardless of the wind. I bet if you did a poll of any group of 'nfl experts' you'd get widely varied opinions. I guess according to you they are all morons though. Would Denver have given the ball to Brady in the same scenario? I guess they are playing 'checkers' though and BB, no matter what he does, is playing "chess"? Except when he's not.

The reason people say others are playing checkers while BB is playing chess is because he doesn't succumb to doing what everyone else would do just to avoid failing spectacularly but goes with what he thinks is giving the team the best odds to win.

Notice that I say odds. Increasing the odds to win from 55:45 to lets say 65:35 is a huge swing but doesn't guarantee anything. But many coaches rather stick with the former than doing something unorthodox just so they don't end up with egg on their face.

A lot of people are erroneously obsessed with the outcomes of actions which is just a totally wrong approach. To quote Saban: You shouldn't worry about outcomes because the results you desire will come from the quality of your execution.

And yeah individually you can make decisions that give you even a 95% chance of having a favorable outcome but still fail. The thing is that over time the edge you have will just add up and make you more successful than those that just stick to the script (or play checkers).

Decisions like taking the wind or taking into the account the roof not being closed before the kickoff of the SB are among the things that make him extraordinary to me. Will his instincts always be right ? No of course not but at least he is doing it from a rational and almost scientific point of view with a healthy dose of indifference. Almost Stoic.

That's a sh*t plan for TE. Dumpster diving.

Being sarcastic and funny would mean I was taking shots at Belichick. I was pointing out factual information that you clearly ignored in regards to the TE situation and the running game.

Looks like Cam Newton will be released today.
