2020 mock drafts: what the pundits think

Have seen a Mock Draft where we took Neville Gallimore. We need another DT but I would take Gallimore only if we mainly play 4-3 Defense. Then he would be a good addition I think.

Yeah, but who knows about the condition of Andrews Cajuste and Froholdt next season, regarding our FA's Thuney and Karras..I just think that we really need to boost our Line to dominate and finally be able to run the football and score 1st and short..
That's what BB thinks too.

This makes me wish there was a “head exploding” reaction available. I don’t see any way they trade next year’s #1.
I can see him trading down for a high two plus.

I really hope that doesn’t happen. #23 is just way too valuable. They have three 3’s, if they need to get someone in round 2, trade up.

I’m hoping Stidham can be the guy for us but if not I’m ok ending up at the top of the draft for next year to be in a position to take Trevor Lawrence, Justin fields, or just a Cornerstone player from picking that high. With all the compensatory picks we can have this year and possibly next, I think we could have a lot of youth on this team within these two years. But I don’t think BB would ever purposely lose.

I see a lot of mocks having us take YGM. I wouldn’t mind taking a pass rushing DE. But man, seeing those THREE receivers going right after, just upsets me. To see Higgins, Reagor and Jefferson go after pick 23 would be upsetting. This team desperately needs OFFENSIVE playmakers.

I think you have to take a shot at af least 3 receivers and 2 tight ends in this draft.

Patriots 7-round mock draft 1.0: Loading up on offense post-Tom Brady

No. 23: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
No. 87: Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton
No. 98: Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma [Blech. —Ed.]
No. 100: K'Von Wallace, DB, Clemson
No. 125: Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri
No. 172: Lynn Bowden Jr., WR, Kentucky
No. 195: Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming
No. 204: Gage Cervenka, OL, Clemson
No. 212: Charlie Taumoepeau, FB, Portland State
No. 213: Davion Taylor, LB, Colorado
No. 230: Casey Toohill, OLB, Stanford
No. 241: John Reid, DB, Penn State

This Phil Perry's mock using The Draft Network. To grab Trautman the Pats are going to have to move up. I think I take my QB in rd 1 and trade up ahead of MIA (w/ ATL) to take Love.

I think it's extremely likely that Bill trades back in the first to acquire a second. If the Pats are ready to hand the keys to Stidham then I really hope they add some receiving weapons in the first 3 rounds. The Pats should be able to trade back in the first or even to the early second and still get a really good receiving prospect.

Mel Kiper's Mock Draft 3.0 (Paywall):

23. New England Patriots

Jordan Love, QB, Utah State

Are the Patriots really going to roll with Jarrett Stidham, Brian Hoyer and Cody Kessler as their 2020 quarterbacks? I’m not buying it. I’ll stick with a QB here, although I’m moving Love back into the fourth spot in my QB rankings, ahead of Jacob Eason. At 6-foot-4, Love has all the traits that teams look for in a starter, but his 2019 stats — 20 TD passes, 17 INTs — will scare off some. I don’t put much stock in it because of all of the talent (and an entire coaching staff) that he lost from the 2018 season, when he had 32 TD passes and six INTs. It’s tough to know whether Bill Belichick is going to treat the season as a rebuild, but taking Love makes sense either way.

I just don't see how Love is a clear upgrade over Stidham.

If Mel is saying we should discount Love's last college year because of his talent, why isn't that also true of Stidham?

Four-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Giants snag WR in Round 4

He has the Pats trading down with the Chargers for their 2 and a 2 in 2021.

3a. Harrison Bryant - TE, FAU
3b. Solomon Kindley - OG, Georgia
3c. Logan Wilson - LB, Wyoming
4. K.J. Hill - WR, Ohio State

Move Thuney, slide Wynn to LG, draft a legit LOT.

That's a strong word. We'd have to move up to get one of the top OT's. There's probably only 3 of them in this draft and they'll likely be gone by mid-1st.
