I liked what I saw from Ta'amu. A lot. In many ways he was the best quarterback in the XFL, and he's very young and hungry.

I love the idea of bringing in Ta'amu, if we commit to Stidham, and having that hungry young backup behind Stidham to push each other and compete for the job. Ta'amu seems like the perfect scout team QB to me, he can do a bit of everything and by all accounts has a good football mind. He certainly showed good leadership and skill with the Battle Hawks.

that said what we'll probably actually do is bring in a veteran like Brian Hoyer who just got cut from the Colts. But I don't want Stidham comfortable as he learns to play at the NFL level. I'd rather have 2 young guys pushing each other.

PJ Walker was better. Ta'amu couldn't even move the ball against DC a couple weeks ago.

PJ Walker was flashier, but it was Ta'amu that had a higher complete percentage. he was more efficient, and in my opinion more complete. He also did it without the marquee receiver that carried Walker at times.

Either way, I think Ta'amu would be a perfect backup QB, because he's versatile and efficient. He'd probably be a dream for the scout team any given week.

I suggested giving PJ Walker a look, got lambasted, and was told that a clone of an old school QB with a career TD/Int ratio of 16:11 was a better choice.

Hoyer? I'd prefer to give Walker a shot too.

Bringing in Cap Rooney is the right move
