Nothing to worry about, it is a democratic hoax and the cases should disappear soon.

"Only 50 have died"

"Only 150 have died"

" Only ***** have died"

"It's just the flu"

And snopes is not left leaning. Facts are facts.

snopes writes this:

“Despite creating some confusion with his remarks, Trump did not call the coronavirus itself a hoax.”

and then gives it a mixed rating. That’s all you need to know about Snopes bias.

Even the left leaning Snopes fact check says Trump never called the virus a hoax. I’d encourage you to go back and listen to what was actually said, instead of what it says on your Facebook feed. This whole “Trump called it a hoax” is like a litmus test for how rational or unbiased a content source is on this topic.

The litmus test is how well you think Trump handled the initial response. The hoax crap is just icing on the cake.

The good news for everyone is that we are responding much better now.

In context, Trump did not say in the passage above that the virus itself was a hoax. He instead said that Democrats’ criticism of his administration’s response to it was a hoax. He muddied the waters a few minutes later, however, by comparing the number of coronavirus fatalities in the U.S. (none, at that point in time) to the number of fatalities during an average flu season, and accusing the press of being in “hysteria mode”:

Did President Trump Refer to the Coronavirus as a 'Hoax'?

I still have no idea what trump meant when he said that...snopes gave it a mixed rating because Trump is so terrible with words, nobody knows what he is talking about.

And snopes is not left leaning. Facts are facts.

Seemed pretty left leaning when they lied for AOC.

they pick and choose what they fact check and what they don’t . They fact checked a satirical website for a joke they made

I have worldometers/coronavirus open as a tab in my browser. I check it once every morning and again every night. It's now part of my routine. I wish it wasn't but it is what it is.

Now that testing is becoming more accessible and it's spreading we are seeing this thing snowball.

The wordsmith doesn’t know what he is trying to say half the time. That’s why he’s got an arsenal of one liners to get the crowd back into it when he takes something too far down a dead ended one way.

Its also pathetic that the smoke screen of ‘democratic hoax’ is actually relevant to conversation. ‘Trump said there would be push back on this, must be part of the democratic hoax.’ Sure Trump wasn’t referencing the virus itself, but giving the base a defense point for the inept response. It has gone miles above the heads of both sides unfortunately. It shouldn’t be a part of any conversation because it distracts from what the real issue is.

The roll out of 400,000 test kits is welcoming news. That means we'll see a huge spike in new cases and eventually deaths but it also means we're doing whatever it takes to get out in front of this. Hopefully we'll avoid the worst case scenarios by a long shot.

Sure. You Trump apologists have your head in the sand and blood on your hands and are detached from reality.
We should have listened to the left when they screamed about closing the borders I guess.

Those people are also ****ing idiots, simply closing them wasn’t enough if you aren’t simultaneously testing for anything. There was no screening for travel from SK, Japan, Italy, etc, etc, etc. It was moving out of a pawn followed by losing countless other pieces. The whole thing fell apart quickly and only now are we seeing it in spectacular fashion.

Highest number of new cases in the world now, exceeding Italy

Dude, give it a rest. China has it under control. We haven’t.

No, they do not. They lie like white on rice.(No pun)
I've backed my words up, can you?

Andrew Cuomo getting presidential buzz as Biden is MIA.

It would be cool to see an Italian president. But I think there’s a reason why it’s never happened before

Yep and as tragic and callous as I sound we need the data, the intelligent analysis of it and taking informed action with it. Data that helps us understand if this thing is flattening out, if heard immunity is happening, if those with pre-existing (and type) conditions are more susceptible. There is a lot of hypothetical if/then math being socialized and thats all well and good but we need baselines and absolute numbers like.... yesterday.

What does that imply exactly? That it's ok they died because they were physically weak anyway?

Asking respectfully. No snark intended.

I'm just not sure if it's a statement of fact or a justification.
No, that’s ridiculous that I suggested it’s ok from anyone to die from this. It’s not ok that they died. It’s for perspective. This is just not that deadly outside the elderly and those with an already compromised I’m immune system and both of my parents fall into this category.

I agree. And I'm growing tired of the Trump defenders but I also don't want to see "the Dems would have responded better" types either because it's being classlessly political during a time we should be non-political.

As a matter of fact, it is enough. Keeping infected people away is the ONLY thing that prevents the spread. Testing itself doesn’t prevent the spread unless it’s accompanied by a change in behavior. Plenty of people just do whatever they want.

Sorry. I didn't mean to imply you at all. You're obviously a good guy.

I have been hearing the " but they had underlying" stuff everywhere so was just thinking out loud.

Perhaps even more we need tests that show who has already had it and have developed immunity/antibodies. Those sort of tests are critical for health care workers and eventually the rest of us.
