Brady’s contract with Tampa Bay - $25m/yr for 2 years?!

BB robbed Tom of his original 6th title, then rewarded him for SB53 by not replacing his toys, and shunning the offense in general. He was never coming back, you could see it the entire season. It was never about the money...for 20 years it was never about the money.

Cap space is not an excuse. The saints had a huge dead money hit on Brees' old deal and still gave him 25 mil a year. You work the cap and add years if you need to. They also just added sanders. Why did we not just make it work? For what? Because BB wants to try and do something with the 5 years he has left? How is the team we will field this year better without Brady? What will the excuse be by some of you people when we win 5 games? Transitional year? Why not just build a contract with Brady and suffer a 'transitional' year later?

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a fan base who hates their team so damn much. The winningest franchise of the last 20 years! Success really attracts some weird mother****ers.

The Saints' bill comes due next year. Pretty much all of their core players other than Brees, Jordan, Armstead, and Thomas are free agents in 2020, and Thomas' cap hit jumps precipitously. They're looking at maybe $25k in cap space next year to put together an entire team. They might keep Lattimore or Ramczyk but the rest are going to walk.

Is this some kind of joke? 2 years at $50m guaranteed??!?! With a couple of incentives thrown in if he’s top 5 in passing categories. Frickin $25m per year. This is exactly the kind of contract Pats fans were hoping he’d sign here. So BB and Kraft idiots didn’t even want to give Brady $25m with some incentives on top. Really wtf?

Is this real life? Brady didn’t even leave for money. He left because of the way the 2019 negotiations went and the gruff and shameful manner BB and Kraft him in this offseason.

If Brady had been receiving $32-35 pr year for 3 years , I could understand. Seeing this $25m per year for 2 years deal makes my blood boil.

Fck you BB and Fck you Kraft. Pars FO totally failed us in these negotiations. Brady practically left for same money. Ridiculous.

He didn't want to resign with Patriots because of the lack of talent on the roster. It had nothing to do with money. This roster is horrible, especially on offense, and Brady's attitude last year made it obvious he knew how bad it was. He wasn't going to spend the last couple of years of his career working with the garbage the Pats have on O.

If Stidham is the QB this year, I feel bad for the guy. He may truly be a quality player, but he isn't going to have an opportunity to prove it with the Pats' personnel on offense

Bill wanted to get younger and more mobile at QB, without paying his aging GOAT money he can use to keep leadership in place during the transition. Tom has had enough of Bill's curmudgeonly ways, wanted to be treated differently than Bill was going to treat him. Like it or not, what has made Bill a successful coach is the fact that he does what he does regardless of who it is. I see Tom's point of view as well. He's done everything, and in his mind, he's earned the right to be treated differently. He has more in common with Belichick than he does with a N'keal Harry or some other 4th round draft pick coming out of school. Tom has the right to think that after all he's done, he should be treated as peer, as a partner in the process. Bill also has a right to think that you're the player, I am the coach, and that's all there is to talk about.

They could sign Tom and not be as good, in their book, as they would if they went with a younger guy. You guys can be up in arms pissed off at the organization, but this is what they do. They look at player X and say player X costs us ____ amount of money. We can get player Z to give 80% of the production of player X and pay player Z 30% of the money player X gets. (in this case, it's more like 3%) That then allows them to go get the middle of the road free agents that they've built this dynasty on. Once it became clear to them that Tom was on the decline, this was a forgone conclusion. The fact that Tom no longer wanted to be here made it easy for them.

From my arm chair, Tom's best days are indeed behind him. I would've been ok signing him and not being as good and saying thanks for the memories. Or, we can move forward and see what happens, and see if they can keep it going with a younger, less expensive QB. If you're a fan of the player, you'll buy a #12 bucs jersey and hate what they did. If you're a fan of the team, you'll tune in Sunday at 1pm and see how the new kid does.

We haven't seen what the Pats will do in the off-season. Why the doom and gloom so early?

Go Pats

I suspect that BB’s decision to move on from Brady was actually finalized in 2018. Who can forget this Pitt sh*t show? I can imagine BB watching embarrassing plays like this and saying to himself “Oh hell, no!” I doubt that Tom House teaches this form to his pupils.

I hope that Tampa fans are prepared for the TB12 Terrified Turtling.

I agree recently Brady appeared to be seeing ghosts at times in the pocket. However that can be negated by having personnel that can beat man to man and get open quickly. The Bucs have lots of guys who can do that. The Pats don't.

Somehow the Pats and Brady found the path that makes neither better off.

You clearly need to move on and find another team to support. The Bucs can use another bandwagon fan.

The players available to them, given their cap position and available capital, are limited. One option would be to find some instant impact offensive players in the draft. Their past doesn't lead one to believe that is likely.

They need to tank to rebuild.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out..

BTW, The Pats offered Brady 2yr/$53M last year and he turned it down. So the only idiot here is you..

Brady and his wife are worth over $500 million. It was never about the money.

Don’t buy what Kraft was selling. It wasn’t guaranteed money or a guaranteed 2nd year. They’ve been offering him year to year with lots of hard to hit incentives.

To be honest.

The Patriots are beyond lucky that the world is in the toilet.

Because it doesnt seem thet anyone gives a sh!t this happened. Busy with real problems
people don't give a sh!t because he's 43.

And maybe Brady, competitive guy that he is, would like to have a shot of overtaking Brees for the all-time records.

The diva wanted out and BB opened the door.

Brady wants to prove to his teammates that they can"believe in him" because he has a narcissistic god complex. You're not a god Tom, but you are about as tone deaf as other divas who can't relate to people losing jobs and businesses that are on the verge of collapse because of COVID 19.

Did your medicals take doctors and facilities away from serving the sick???

I bet you expected a feeding frenzy for your services and a nationally televised press conference but there are bigger things than you going on...poor Tommy

Don’t know about all that but I will miss the humble Brady who is cool as a cucumber, worked his ass off and gave us all those clutch moments, great memories and shoved Deflategate right up Goodell’s ass.

I don’t think many of us will miss the Brady that showed up the last couple of seasons very much... skipping OTAs with his new receivers, pouting in pressers even when the team won and throwing fits on the sidelines.

I don’t like Kraft’s comments either. This whole thing could have been done better on all sides.

Is it that hard for people to wait until after the draft and preseason before declaring our 2020 offense DOA?

Really never thought I’d see the day Patriots “fans” started trashing Brady.
