Patriots agree to terms with FB Danny Vitale

I know that BB has been shopping at the Filene's Basement bargain table for football players. That said, I remember seeing Vitale when he was with the Browns and I envisioned him as being a more well rounded FB than Develin and, hopefully, a solid red zone threat, an area that definitely needs improvement.

Going to be interesting when our FB is quicker and faster than the majority of our WR group.

Fullback... check
Tight End. .................NEXT!!!!!

Vitale has great hands & played TE/what they call super back in college.

I love this signing.

I have no idea how he is as a blocker, but I love him as a receiver.

I'll pencil in Vitale as our #3 TE (and H-back) for now. Obviously, he could play FB if Develin isn't available.

Maybe Develin is now a candidate for the TE position :)

Yes, Develin would play some reps at TE. We still need a #1 TE, and someone to compete with LeCosse for the position of move TE, if there is such a position. Actually, given that Brady is gone, we could go with 3 contributing TE's plus a FB.

If Develin & LaCosse are playing TE for us in 2020, we may be drafting Trevor Lawrence in 2021.

That isn't what is being suggested. Develin got lots of reps at TE in 2018. Did we really end up with the 1st pick in the draft. On a Belichick team, H-backs, fullbacks and OT's sometimes have reps at TE. That has been a serious part of our offense whenever we had the personnel to execute those choices.

If you think that LeCosse is so bad a TE that him being the #2 is enough to make uno noncompetitive, well that's your choice. Belichick believes otherwise.

I like the vitale signing. he is not a devastating lead blocker, but he can pick up the blitz and catch a little out of the backfield. Special teams is a plus that bb will appreciate.

we are all huge develin fans, but neck injuries are serious and we need to consider, he may not be able to or should not be allowed to return. There is no shame in him walking away while he is able.

By signing Vitale , could he also put Burkeheads future in doubt ?? Vitale does seem to be able to cover a few positions but maybe not necessarily as an out and out running back

Another Meh camp fodder signing GM BB being very consistent during COVID19.o_O
