Who would you have cut to get the cap room to get Brady "weapons?" You need to create about $50 million in cap space.
What you need to do first and foremost to get "weapons" is to Stop continually drafting players that feckin suck and to Start drafting those that don't...You therefore no longer need to create that $50M in cap space for them because half or more of those weapons would be on those nice cheap rookie contracts...

So he kept on signing contracts with Pats since 2017, why ?

If this would have any truth to it he could have moved on at any point easily by asking for it, refusing to sign any of the contracts the Pats offered or just walked from camp (like Curran dramatically suggested).

All of this **** smells so desperately like all three different camps throwing feces at each other just for optics.

Brady’s last extension was before the 2017 season. No additional years were added after the attempted trade other than the voided years added last training camp when he was given a raise and the team got much needed cap space. In 2018, Brady was given incentives which he did not earn.

The report in my last post originated in the SF Bay Area from Matt Miller of the Bleacher Report. This is not score settling as you contest. No one did anything wrong here. Belichick had every right to try and trade Brady and keep Jimmy G. Bob Kraft had the right to stop it, and Tom Brady has the right to be angered by it and use it as motivation to leave the Patriots when his contract expired.

The truth of this report has been obvious to anyone with half a brain since the fall of 2017. (Pats could not afford both Brady and Garoppolo; if Belichick wanted to keep Jimmy G, then it was Brady who had to go). It’s just that you and others just didn’t want to pull your head out of the sand to consider that there might actually be discord between the Patriots owner, head coach and QB. Well, there was discord, and this week it was no small factor in Brady leaving for Tampa.

If it happens, Viper's going to have a stroke. jk

Nah its all good man. I would, however point out that as of today, 3 major FAs didn’t sign with the Bucs. After all I heard was, and according to Schefter the rush of FAs to play with TB hasn’t materialized. Player after player, defensive, offensive and ST guys are signing with anyone but Tampa. I’m sure there are still FAs that will sign eventually..but to characterize it as a rush of players wasn’t correct.

There it is.

And also stop hoarding players at positions of strength.

Now get ready for “but they draft late every year” in 3....2....1.......

Schefty has been on a cold streak for some time.

Everyone bought it hook line and sinker. Watching the Mcafee show from today and he even bought it. I remember someone saying Humphries didn’t speak for NFL free agents. Well so far at least for the top tier FA’s, he does. It almost feels like they are feeding us a narrative. Just like they did for the non existent Brady interest from at least 11 teams.

Almost like the media, across all industries, is full of **** and promotes clickbait because the truth of the matter is, it's a business.

This is pure fantasy and no one with an ounce of credibility has backed it up. NBCS Bay Area posted an article yesterday in response to the BR report with past quotes from John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan about how the Garoppolo trade happened:

What Shanahan, Lynch said on '17 49ers-Pats trade talks

You choosing to make deliberately silly assumptions off of a simple statement, in order to knock down the resultant straw man, is not the same as the statement having mischaracterized the truth.

Only after this last contract was the possibility of the pats placing the franchise tag on him removed.

This is largely irrelevant.

If Brady really decided to skip town after what the report suggests happened in 2017 he could have achieved that long ago by communicating it to Kraft or BB and threatening to hold out.

What would BB or Kraft have done? Force Brady to practice? Go into the year with a QB holding out?

Point being the entire report of Brady deciding in 2017 to move on makes no sense and is completely contradicted on the record by Lynch.

At this point id be very happy with Eifert Wolfe and Perriman.
I don’t see any reason to spend money on Perriman, especially when you have this draft class. The guy has been an underachiever his whole career. I wouldn’t let his 36 garbage time catches fool you. If they make this move I will be genuinely pissed off.

Point being the entire report of Brady deciding in 2017 already to move on makes no sense.

I read a report that discussed that this contributed to the "downturn" in 2017 when the Pats went to the Superbowl in 2017, then the "downturn" continued to 2018 when they won the Superbowl. Then another report says that this rumor lit a fire under Brady's butt.. a whole lot of conjecture on the whole situation.

Maybe last year the original premise could be true, possibly?? Injuries were an issue for #12 last year, remember all the elbow stuff and how he could not throw in practice???

Do not see all that much of a "downturn" since 2017 when this allegedly happened, Pats record since 2017; 42 & 13.. does not seem like a "downturn".

What is happening -- as usual -- is that now that we know the outcome people want to build some narratives and try to connect imaginary dots just to confirm their pre-existing biases and opinions.

And to quote Bernard Baruch: "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But no one is entitled to be wrong in their facts." And unfortunately for this specific narrative there are quotes from Lynch directly contradicting this in a totally unsolicited way.

But same as with flat earthers the existence of blatantly contradicting evidence will not stop some people from going on with their narratives because of confirmation bias.

You should look at who started what.. Iapatsfan is the one who started with the vitriol and name calling. I was just returning the garbage he was spewing.

LOL, I was just bustin' your chops, no one did more name calling than I used to do way back when. I had more names for posters than Trump does for all of his enemies. In the final analysis, it's not worth it. Haters are gonna hate and nitpickers are gonna pick through posts with a fine toothed comb and you can't stop it...right?

What is that last statement he made? You know, the one about FAs flocking..and beginning or something..

Ya made up straw man. He says flock I look for it, and it isn’t there, yet.
