Brady gone

close to NY.

Factoid of the day: Tampa Bay Buccaneers play in Tampa Bay, Florida.

FYI - Tampa Bay to NYC is 1127.6 miles. Foxboro to NYC is 204 miles

Also, the Kraft spin job on "Brady didn't want to be back" is comical. How about stepping up and making it very clear they wanted to keep him. None of that happened.

Brady got the offer from Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He wasn't officially a free agent until Wednesday at 4:00. He NEVER gave the Patriots a chance to match. NEVER.

Brady wanted to leave. Brady negotiated a contract that allowed him to leave. Brady left.

Chances are that Brady is more concerned in expanding the TB12 avocado ice cream line to Floridians, the oldest demographic in the US, than he was in playing for the Patriots for another year.

Nor should nor should any other team have. Little bit less than I thought but boy he took them for a ride. He better be MVP Brady no questions asked. No old man injuries keeping him out of practice. No sir.
So, Brady isn't worth $25M a year, but Brees is?

Tampa Bay is:

Same time zone as NY
Closer to NY than is SD
A shorter trip to the South American countries they like to visit.

So, it's 40 minutes in the area from Boston to New York, and 144 minutes from Tampa Bay to New York. A 100 minute flight time difference, in the same time zone, isn't that big a deal. It prohibits daily flights, but not much more than that.

Stop. Blaming Brady is asinine.

The Patriots had years to give better deals, and Brady had been asking for longer term commitment, only to be rebuffed by the team. The Patriots then had all the offseason to give a better deal. The Patriots chose not to do it.

NE was not an option for Brady

Some people have irrational love for this player..

Free choice is not blame. Florida has better golf at the moment for example. Kids like beaches. You had the guy for 20 years.. time to say bubye... And go visit him in TB.

Some people have irrational love for this player..

Please, explain how this is "irrational" as opposed to the attachment that fan bases have for other players.

last time when McCourty went to free agency, he came back to the pats to let him know what was offered. They then upped their offer and he re-signed with patriots.

This time, Brady went out, agreed to the Bucs then came back to the patriots and told them he was leaving. You dont see a difference there? Sure the pats couldve committed to him last year, or earlier. But all reports stated Brady wanted to hit free agency. And when he did its not like he gave the patriots a chance to match. Reports state the patriots were shocked when he didn't give them a chance to negotiate.

NOT blaming brady, as it is his choice. But not how some can view it any other way.

Does make you think if the decision in 2017 to trade garropolo was a mistake though. sure we won a superbowl that same year. But its not like it was on Brady's arm. he was a game manager that season/playoff series and the defense rose to the challenge. Couldn't Jimmy have done that?

So essentially by choosing brady of Jimmy G. We got 2 years of brady

Could Jimmy have won that game in KC? I don't know what makes you confident he would have.

And to think, I just got my first ever Pats jersey as a Christmas gift (six weeks after Christmas), a TB 12 Jersey. Will keep it for the memories

It's obvious that Brady wanted a long term deal and BB wanted it to be year to year. Both are reasonable positions to take. I don't blame either party for sticking to what they believed was important to them. I preferred Brady back for this year as I think they had a real chance at another run but fully understand his decision.

Root hard for Stidham to play like a top 10ish QB and the defense playing like a top 5 unit again. Team makes a run to AFCCG
Brady plays well and TB is a contender - I will absolutely root for Brady

You morons trying to blame Brady are unbelievably ignorant. BB jerked this guy around for years with these BS incentive laden, under market, year to year contracts. No other franchise QB in the league was treated like this! Friggin ridiculous to treat the GOAT, and the coincidentally the guy who transformed this formerly garbage franchise into relevance, in this fashion. BB is a jerk and so is Mr * himself, Krafty Bob. Enjoy your 6-10 next season and descent back into total irrelevance.

It's done.. there is rational explanation. No *****ing necessary IMO.

Not going to happen. It is either 10-6 or so or compete tank job and then grab Lawrence. No tread-milling here and if Stidham sucks in TC the BB will make that decision. I’m sure he would rather go through one terrible season and grab the next big thing QB for the future than just eek into the playoffs and be too good to suck.

Haha.. DMC.. you're awesome. Hey what if Tom strains a calf muscle week 2 . Season in TB is toast. Big 50m risk on 43 y.o. goes down the massive tubes.

Is this scenario more probable than miracle TB season?

You're delusional if you think Pats are getting Lawrence and/or BB's giant ego will allow them to tank. No, what's going to happen is BB will return to what he actually is, a sub .500 coach. 6-10, 7-9 for the next few years.

"Pliability" will prevent that. Guerrero is the best condition coach in the league! Haha.
