Brady gone

I get it. Jamies could’ve made a lot of money had he not been so careless with the football.

He isn’t careless...he just sucks.

And the 5,000 yards and 30+ TDs were the result of throwing 32 INTs, not in spite of it.

he is dead to me now meaning i root for the name on the front, not the back. Even more so now that i hear he didnt even give the Pats a chance to match. good luck to him in Tampa. I will root for him again when he is inducted to the HOF.

This is the exact mentality true fans have. The correct one as well.

There is no correct mentality. Fandom is personal. People should not be chastised for having a different view or somehow be viewed as "less than" fan. Everyone needs their emotional space.

Probably time to take one of those self imposed breaks again. You dont have to discard brady like a used tissue. It's perfectly acceptable to wish him well and support him when they dont play NE. Your foaming at the mouth shtick is really unbearable.

I agree regarding cheering for the laundry. Dunno if I’d say he’s dead to me but I’ve moved on since he has too. I wish him well. I actually hope he does NOT win another ring. Might be the only Patriot fan who feels that way.

From everything that is now being reported pats offered Brady a Brees type contract but Brady could not stand working with BB any longer.

Saw this elsewhere and liked it:
"I see Tom Brady and Belichick as David Gilmour and Roger Waters. Waters was the brains and the leader, a man with impeccable artistic vision. But Gilmour was the soul. Pink Floyd fractured when the two of them stopped being able to work together, but it’s pretty clear that they needed each other to really bring out the best in the music. Waters post-Floyd is a lot of weird concept work and artsy crap that isn’t that enjoyable to listen to, seemingly more interesting in theory than execution. The Gilmour-led Pink Floyd era is mostly meandering forgettable fluff. The two of them brought out the best in each other. Tom and Bill brought out the best in each other, and I don’t think either of them will find the same success without one another. It was a magical chance pairing, and it’s over now."

That comparison might work if Belichick and Brady were both players.

This one hurts a Pats fan no matter which "faction" you're in. So in the spirit of the times we are in today, let's give each other a little extra space on this one. Some will need to vent, and that will probably be through the next season (hopefully there will be one!). In time I'm sure we are all going to be happy for Tom that he got to go out on his terms and do what he wanted with the last 2 (or more?) years of his career.

In the meantime, don't sell BB short, F the Cleveland history with Fart Modell blowing the thing up after BB had it going in the right direction. I think he has probably thought through this scenario and has an idea what he is looking for going forward. BB is, like his Mom and Dad, first and foremost a teacher, of players, coaches, personnel people, etc. They will get this right!

Why support a player when they no longer play on the team? I don’t wish him ill health. He is gone, no longer plays for the team. He never came back to get an offer. If you can’t deal with that then fine.

This is complete an utter BS. You know nothing and can't pass judgement on anyone! Honestly I even wonder if many Pats fans were deserving of a player like Brady. Enjoy what he gave you and thank him for everything. He is forever a God in NE as he should be!

Sure when he is done playing he can come back and be celebrated for eternity. Build him a statue outside Gillette, damn well earned it. Wait for his HoF enshrinement that should have a Brady and only Brady wing.

I get it. I can do clean breaks pretty easily and most cannot. I am all about who the next QB is. Brady means nothing to me at the moment but that will change once he files his papers for retirement.

Really doubt that. Possibly 25 per year with loads of unmake-able incentives. Most reports I saw had the offer at one year for less than last year. Again if the Pats in fact upped that it was incentive laden and with the O roster at present, hard to see that work out for Brady.

Who's said that there were second year guarantees? Nobody I've read has even tried to pretend that was the case, and everyone I've read has dismissed such a notion.

BB wasn't giving out 2 legitimate years on a deal even 2 years ago. To believe that he was willing to do it now, and Brady flipped him the bird, requires a suspension of disbelief of significant magnitude.

I understand the whole "root for the laundry" thing but for me it's more important to me to see the Bucs win as an FU to those that have very wrongly in my opinion thrown Brady under the bus. And here it goes, would absolutely never happen, but don't ask me who I would root for in a Pats-Bucs Super Bowl because it's not a slam dunk and only for the reasons I just stated. Maybe if you don't live in another geographic area you don't understand the hatred of Tom Brady and the Pats throughout the nation. They always pull the "cheater" card out of their back pocket too. F them and go Tom Brady!!! I hope he reaches 100,000 yards (including playoffs) for his career!

Also, the Kraft spin job on "Brady didn't want to be back" is comical. How about stepping up and making it very clear they wanted to keep him. None of that happened.

Kraft still can't shut up, apparently:

When I spoke to Robert Kraft, he made this analogy about Tom Brady's departure: "Think about loving your wife & for whatever reason, there’s something - her father or mother - that makes life impossible for you & you have to move on but you don’t want to." @nflnetwork #Patriots

From everything that is now being reported pats offered Brady a Brees type contract but Brady could not stand working with BB any longer.

Everything’s rumor at this point but I have a hard time believing we’d offer a Tom a multi year raise when we weren’t willing to go past 1 year last offseason.

Kraft is so full of crap it's not even funny. Corporate spin control. Blow it out your arse, pervert cheapskate!

I just find it funny that Kraft has now:

  • Blamed Brady (would have gotten done if Brady wanted) when that was clearly nonsense.
  • Thrown BB under the bus (Made it impossible to continue the relationship) when Tuggy could have stepped in years ago, and nipped this problem in the bud.

I'm now waiting for Kraft to blame climate change, racism and the coronavirus.
