fahk. Longest off season evah.

Welker had 112 catches with Brady in 2007. He had 111 with Cassel in 2008.

Having a player like Edelman would be a significant boon for Stidham or whoever takes over.

Plus Edelman's close to royalty here (he might be the most popular athlete in Boston right now); I doubt that would happen in Tampa Bay.

This isn’t a popularity contest no way Edelman cares about that also I think Tampa would give a 2nd for him

Welker had concussion issues in Denver but still caught 73 passes for 10 TDs in 2013 in one of the most prolific offenses of all-time. Edelman's still playing at a high level and has an extremely team-friendly contract.

He also runs different routes than Godwin. That said, not sure he fits the Arians offense.

I doubt there offense will be vertical they’ll be attacking the dame way we did but with more vertical shots.

Arians has never run anything but a vertical offense.

Do you see them giving up a 2nd rounder for him? Even a 3rd?
I see them giving up a mid-rounder. 5th maybe.

If JE doesn't want to be here Bill will fire sale him out, take the cap savings and run.

For a pick of Godwin or Howard?
That’s not even a choice, Goodwin is so much better than Howard they shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath.

I'd see if Tampa wants to swap firsts for Jules. Honestly they go down the draft board 9 spots or so and make Brady happy in the process. Pats get in range to take a play maker WR like Jeudey.

People here get Brady's game wrong. We've been hearing the idiots parade the "Brady can't throw deep" nonsense for a long, long time (as in most of Brady's career). Here's 2014:

Scout: Tom Brady Throws Worst Deep Ball In NFL But Is Best Under 15 Yards

I generally agree with you historically but I think his deep ball has declined more than any other part of his game over the last couple years. That said, I don't think Arians is going to remake his offense into a short-and-intermediate game offense, so it's up to Brady to play the vertical game.

I'm not sure Edelman fits the Arians mold, he likes bigger, more vertical slot receivers like Fitzgerald and Godwin. That said, Edelman's good enough to be useful anywhere.

I think if you're paying the GOAT QB with two years left on his career $30MM/year and asking HIM to change his offense to a style that's hard for an ageing QB to play, and also not giving up a low round draft pick or two to get him receivers he is comfortable with, you are making a big mistake.

I think so too, even with their wr depth. Tampa’s got a 2 year window with Tom max. Makes sense to try to bring in a wr he’s familiar with, plus the leadership/toughness Edelman brings should rub off on the rest of the team.

Pats should trade him to Tampa. Everybody wins.

He's going to be 34, and this is not a trade deadline deal.

So, while anything is possible, I don't see Edelman bringing back a 2nd round pick.

Throw in rights to Gronk. and a fifth (or whatever). Is their second closer to 33 or 64?

Hold the price firm at a 2nd round pick and make em squirm. Might not get it, but might ultimately get a pretty good offer.

We're under no obligation to trade him and he's worth a lot more to Tampa than any other team who has a short title window and wants to keep Tom happy.
Hahahahahahhahahahahaha less that zero chance we get a 2nd for Edelman unless Tom kidnaps the Bucs GM’s kid and holds him for ransom until the trade is made.

After years of them being our little league farm team these pricks took Brady from us

Trade him

Ship the squinty-eyed squirrel to Stripper Nation

Makes sense, there's no real reason I can think of for him to want to stay. Might as well try to get traded to Tampa.
