I find you guys inconceivably (when I keep using that word, I know what it means) ridiculous at this point.
If a guy on the Patriots under-performs, we'll have threads bashing him for years after he's gone (Jordan Richards?). BB gets hammered over every move.
But point out anything about Cheeto Jesus and the comeback is "libtard."
I mean, the guy is only President, right? Above reproach?
So today I hear audio of a powerful Senator telling his donors at a dinner in February how bad it's going to get while at the same time, the public messaging from the White House and some prominent politicians was minimizing it, and Trump and Kudlow were telling people that it was a good time to buy stocks.
You know what that is? That's insider trading and playing the unconnected for dupes.
By any measure, the US response to this has been a failure - a big one. We're in isolation, soon in lockdown nationwide, because of that failed initial response.
Because they told the lab in Washington to stop testing after they correctly identified the first case in the USA (and many in that nursing home subsequently died and the people handling them weren't properly outfitted, so many of them got sick, too).
We didn't get the test kits from WHO and didn't even ramp up our own capacity anywhere near quickly enough.
And they lied, repeatedly. Remember when there would be "1 million kits by Sunday" and there weren't?
Remember when they said "four million by the end of the week"? That number was pulled out of their asses. There was no way it was remotely real.
But that's okay with you, because you're a homer for team red and have for some reason I will never understand for any politician, personally invested in this trainwreck administration and have to dig your heels in at every turn.
No American should be satisfied with this response. China? F*** China. China isn't a "communist country," ffs - it's a feudalistic oligarchy, like Russia, like Turkey, and very much like some of the power brokers this country would like for us to become (see the Senator above). Xi Jingping sucks, everyone around him sucks and those who came before him suck. They are what they are.
So consider South Korea, an ally, an open society, instead, and map their response alongside ours. Be ready, though, because, to use the previous analogy, we are the Jets comparing Gang Green to BB's Patriots.
But don't worry, Trump will come on every day and tell you that he's just signed the franchise test kit.
