Brady gone

It speaks volumes about you being a lousy troll. It may speak loudly about you not having a clue as to how free agency works. It doesn't speak much at all about how elite players deal with multiple teams clamoring for their services.

Oh damn that was your post? Thought you were gone so wasn’t expecting to see you on here. Troll huh? So a 43 year old QB was turned down by several teams he was reportedly interested in, then sent his demands to 2 teams because he was getting desperate knowing they would say yes because what position were they in to say no because they were as desperate as him?

Not exactly a hot market when you usually hear the term “player x has multiple OFFERS they are looking at and will decide today”. Usually it isn’t player X is DEMANDING these terms and is waiting for the teams to decide if they will meet them.

" investigation is over in 2021 "
What investigation?
Thx

'Brady will make Tampa Bay better.'
Really any QB who throws less than 30 INT ...?
Better. Even if Brady is barely average, its a step up.

But Brady and average don't work for me, yet
Last year was meh by his std, but..
After 20 years of watching the man?
I believe he will get it done

But then, I am still in steep denial he is really gone
No deal yet!
:)

Actually, you make everything up, including this ridiculous rant. Your hatred and obsession for Brady is off the rails.

Nope, I can’t stand people who think paying 30 a year to a 43 year old on a new team is smart. Thank god you don’t run the team or he’d be on the books for 30 per.

Whatever. I don’t hate Brady. Never did. Best player in football history. However, I can separate what he was from what he is now. He is closer to Wizards Jordan than he is to MVP Brady. Still has moments of awesomeness, with more just average play. It isn’t s knock on the man or his will or desire. It is a fact of his age. And it seems he doesn’t understand that.

How hard is this to understand?

  • Interest is established between Brady and potential suitors.
  • Brady whittles down list based on preference.
  • The teams left in the list are told Brady is still interested. However, they don’t want to waste their time chasing him and missing out, so they ask him what kind of offer it would take.
  • Brady gives them a general idea. Teams willing to pay it stay in; teams that aren’t drop out.
  • At this point having a couple or a few teams isn’t uncommon at all.
This is how every player’s free agency works. You seem so laser focused on catching Brady in some perverted, evil act that you’re blind to it. The Patriots handle free agency the same way. If they’re interested in a player, they want to get a general sense of the player’s expectations. I’m a headhunter, and that’s the first thing I establish, too. Otherwise, you’re wasting everyone’s time and setting yourself for a bad failure at the offer stage.

Why does it bother you so much? If Brady fails, Tampa Bay is no worse off than they would be with Winston or some loser like Mariota. You don’t win in the NFL by refusing to take bold risks. Brady may be just what that team needs.

He’s only some good O talent away from the Brady who played in 2017 and yes he won the MVP in 2017

It’s because I don’t want to see him fail. I don’t want to see him tarnish his legacy. Bold risks are fine but 43 year old bold risks aren’t smart. You sound like Felger with that bold risk stuff. I hope he lights it up and I’m proven wrong. BB, Kraft and Caserio all deemed him to be not worth 30. Were 3 of the smartest minds in football completely wrong? Or was whomever owns the Bucs (Glazer group), Licht and Arians right?

So he hasn’t changed one iota in 3 years? He has shown zero signs of slippage? The ball comes out the same way it always has and is always on target like it used to be? He makes the proper decisions just as he did 3 years ago? He missed less or more practices for maintenance than 3 years ago?

Yeah those three football minds (including Kraft...lol) have been on an absolute tear with their decisions. They can’t possibly get this wrong.

Sure you get an idea but as being reported is Brady told the teams his ask and it was a take it or leave it or so it comes off as that. If Brady had just come off an MVP year and was even 40 I could stomach it easier. Also, if he was just flat out awesome, wouldn’t better teams jump at the opportunity? Tenn, San Fran to be exact.

Tampa's OL isn't shoddy by any stretch of the imagination. They have one of the best pass-protecting OL in the league, and remember that TB has the 14th pick- and this is an OL rich draft. They are one lucky pick from having a top five OL.
And having brady read at the LOS automatically helps.

Tennessee and San Francisco are both coming off seasons where their QBs played really well. I don’t see how that has anything to do with Brady. Tampa Bay cannot win with Winston. They’re looking for an upgrade. Tennessee and SF are not looking for an upgrade; that they shows interest shows that Brady is still viewed as productive.

While I do not blame either BB or TB for this outcome, it feels awful.
Tom's dad was so right when he said "it won't end well".
How did Tom's dad know that when he said it. He must have known that there was some friction between his son and BB.

Even if you think BB made the right move, it feels crappy (much worse than I expected) as the Pats descend into irrelevancy for at least the next 2 years.

Somehow, if TB had stayed this year, even if he sucked and they went 2-14....It would have felt like the Pats did the right thing. A world class generational sports icon comes along once in a lifetime and when it does...I think you thank your good fortune and do everything to hold on until the very very end.

I feel sorry for the kid (Stidham). Saying its a tough act to follow is the most colossal understatement of all time.

But of Brady is MVP Brady then isn’t he light years better than either of those QBs? Because I’m hearing a lot here that he is still elite and MVP caliber so he must be and they screwed up by not taking him up on his offer.

Do not disagree that he has slipped A LITTLE BIT from vintage Brady, but not in terms of decision making. That is what the Bucs need the most, I think

Also, while Brady has slipped a little bit, I think last season was an aberration in a sense due to a combination :
1. Best offensive skill player in 2019 was injured bad enough that he needed multiple (2?) surgeries after the season ended

2. No other WR/TE on the NE roster in the second half of the year was any good. In fact, would anyone not named Edelman even make the list of top 5 skilled position players in Tampa?

3. Brady had an injury. Now you can take this as a sign of old age and of things to come. I personally do not. Football is a violent game and players get hurt. Brady had done relatively well on the injury front between 2008 and this past year. Maybe argument can be made for decreased healing ability?

4. OL play.

I personally think the reason that Brady looked unbrady-like last years was a combination of the above and a tiny bit of slippage, but I do not think this is like Forehead at the end.

Also, the cap keeps increasing year to year. Therefore, I think to compare salaries, it always should be percentage of total cap space that year. I absolutely think that Brady to TB makes them significantly better and helps fix one of their main weaknesses. They had to pay a qb this year, for about 10m more they get to upgrade the position. I think it will prove to be worth it. I expect them to make the playoffs and hopefully make it to the superbowl.

You will be proven wrong. I think he also wants to prove bill was wrong as well. I have no doubts he will have a great season 2020. 2019 was a mirage full of lousy talent.

Of course he’s not the same, but I think he’s pretty close and last year the talent around him was putrid (Edelman excluded but he was a walking MASH unit). Well have to wait until this year to see what he does with better talent.

Funny thing about bill is that he’s hard headed enough to bring back the same talent that brady had to prove that it wasn’t the talent and more brady. Haven’t done much yet to upgrade at wr or tight end.

Kraft need to go godfather mode and reel brady back in like McDaniels.

Still ain't too late
