You’re overstating the savings by roughly $12 million because you’re not accounting for dead money or the players that take those five new roster spots.HIGHTOWER, CANNON, CHUNG, HARMON, GOSTKOWSKI=$35MM

How true. You’re overstating the savings by roughly $12 million because you’re not accounting for dead money or the players that take those five new roster spots.

You said it was a smart business decision on his part to go on a public tirade saying he doesn’t want to be traded, that he’s being forced out. I’m saying it isn’t, and I’m pointing out how Brady is handling a very similar situation and is still getting paid. Yeah, Brady is a free agent so there’s a difference in circumstances. But do you really think Newton helped his cause with that twitter response? His future employer might consider him a loose cannon and shy away from trading for him.
BillB is doing squat on the free-agency & trade market.
Getting tired of "we will find the cheap gems later in time...".
TB probably had it too.
Moss, Welker and Amendola signings/trades. The others were draft picks. I don't think anyone is saying the Pats haven't drafted players for the offense, it's just that their draft picks at skill positions on offense lately have been underwhelming (I like Sony, but he looks like an above average running back and nothing more than that). Other that Sony, none of those names is a recent acquisition.Pats slapped the Franchise tag on Thuney while also bringing back Slater and the McCourty Brothers.
Now they need to free up some room. And, since you haven't been paying attention. There have actually been some players let go who would be at least as good as Collins whom the Patriots might be able sign after they free up some space. Which they should be able to do.
And lets stop pretending like the Patriots NEVER brought in players for Brady because they did. Moss. Welker. Amendola. Gronk. Hernandez. White. Michel. Etc.
They also went and got Gordon and Brown. Both of whom shot their way out of here.
Been like that since 2017.Another year to watch everyone else sign players and Pats just wait lol
so there.
It took a while, but Teddy Bridgewater finally has gotten his payday.
Per a source with knowledge of the contract, Bridgewater’s three-year deal with the Panthers pays out $63 million. Of that amount, $33 million is fully guaranteed...
CAP. Repeat after me, “THERE IS A SALARY CAP IN THE NFL.”BillB is doing squat on the free-agency & trade market.

Yes, I think it would have made a difference. He’s the kind of weapon this team desperately needs.Anyone think Brady stays if the Patriots had traded for Diggs or Hopkins? Really stings that Hopkins was affordable in 2020 and only cost a second round pick and a bad running back. He's the type of player that could have made such an enormous difference.
