Brady gone

Hopefully he retires soon, should've stay in New England. He will learn the hard way that the grass isn't greener on the other side. Soon to be a shadow of his former self.

Yeah, I bet he only has 3 years left, max.

No, you were making light of the folks who thought he was gone. So now that Brady is gone, you can follow him to his new team. Bye.

Good call, **** stain. You're really the authority of this board. How many humiliating insults have been hurled at you in the last week? 500?

To me, it's always seemed that Brady has been the more stubborn one about changing his passing philosophy, rather than the Patriots being stubborn about changing their offense.

I guess we'll see which party is ultimately beholden to their ways, but having seen the offense under Garappolo for a few games, I get the sense that McDaniels and Belichick are more than capable of evolving their offense to suit the strengths of their (new) QB and receivers, and make it less regimented and read/react oriented as it was under Brady.

???

The team changed the passing philosophy no fewer than 3 times during Brady's tenure.

@Ice_Ice_Brady please explain how a 43 year old QB with a non BB head coach and all new team offense is just gonna hop on the field week 1 after TC and be humming right along?

I will be waiting.

No one knows. Not you. Not me.

When Brady had top WRs, he played the game totally differently.

Anyone who think Brady can only get by throwing to backs or slot guys has to account for the 2 or 3 seasons he had actual deep threats. He lead the league in those years in throwing down field.

He's not a one-trick pony.

Only question is his arm at this point, but everyone seeing the decline might be off about that too, if the elbow strain was really bothering him, not to mention the porous O-line.

At this point, more than anything, he has to figure out if his new team is going to have a decent OL.

I would venture to guess that they all involved politics, and the fact you were among the ones throwing them shows how childish and narrow-minded you are.

Okay **** stain. Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel like you're not the village idiot.

That thread is a cesspool of ignorance and idiocy.

Except the memes. That part is awesome.

Anyone calling him a OTP is a moron.

At the same time I think we can all agree that one of the abilities that elevates him over most peers is his decision making which is based on being able to read defenses in various of ways.

So to keep that edge he will need to be careful about finding the right fit where the OC and fellow players will be on the same page with him. If they are not it is likely you will see more stuff like this year that is streaky and disjointed.

There is a significant amount of risk in going away from a place where everything was built around him at this stage of his career: he only has so much time left. But obviously if anyone can overcome this it is TB12 with his work ethic.

Effffff thissss

this is too depressing. Come corona, take me.

What is a "system" and what is a "scheme" ?

I’ve been asking myself that for years. Only question that I’ve had longer is one that has plagued mankind for eons: “ how many wolf heads are in a can of wolfs Head grease”?

No one knows

Say what?

The damn offense let us down this year. Brady absolutely knew we needed it. No wonder he was mad. He knew we were going into the thick of the schedule.

Casting it simple frustration with stats is an incredibly slanted take and would be incredibly out of character for Tom.

What's more likely is that a competitor like Tom concerns himself with whether or not the unit he is on is producing at an acceptable level. With a few exceptions they clearly were not.

Saying he just wanted the stats is such ********.

Arians offense emphasizes on deep throws. They got weapons there but that OL better hold up otherwise Brady is gonna get killed.

The difference is Curran understands it's in the best interest of both parties to move on. Curran is not saying the Patriots should give Brady 50 million over 2 years for sub par play. You are.

What part of this do you disagree with @Totti?

You're quoted saying the Pats should pay TB 50 million over the next 2 years even if his play sucks.

Brady has needed to make an adjustment for years. He’s been reliant on receivers who can read defenses. The NFL has changed, and it’s more about athleticism now. Brady has brought this up in the past.

In New England, the receivers haven’t been very athletic, and perhaps part of that is Brady/the Patriots fault for not adjusting to the times. All around the league even average to decent QBs are doing just fine.

If Brady goes to Tampa, he’s also leaving behind his New England playbook and philosophy. He’ll need to learn some new terminology, but mostly he’ll be embracing a simplified system.

He’ll be fine. He’s never had weapons as good as TBs except 2007 and maybe some peak Gronk/Edelman years.

That is called whistling past the graveyard. How many years did it take for Gronk to be Gronk? Jules? To earn his trust? 2007? 13 freaking years ago. He cannot throw the deep ball accurately anymore. He could then not now. I doubt his new recovers are used to the immense pressure he puts on them. Day after day, practice after practice. So you got a new old QB who can’t hit me deep all in my chili?

I swear some of you think Brady is the same Brady of 5 years ago. He is actually a lesser version of his 01-06 self. In NE that may work due to his status in the building. He lost that the instant he left. He is now a 43 year old QB1. Not Tom F-ing Brady.

That said, history has shown that there is no better QB at dealing with a leaky OL and being able to survive than Brady.

Your post may not age well. Mine may not either.

I hope Tom is still good. He's a terrific human being and has provided the best hobby ever for 20 years.

We'll see. If he's still got it, I won't think any less of you. We just guess based on what we think we see for about one or two minutes per week (the total time Tom has the ball during a given game).

The “System” is how you allocate talent to fit your “scheme”, how you manage the salary cap, draft picks, team meetings, coaches meetings, how you hold practices, etc.

Scheme is how you attack teams. 3-4, 4-3, Tampa 2, man to man, read option, west coast offense, etc.

They are both completely different things.
