Brady gone

This second guessing the Jimmy trade **** from Vollin and others is absolutely insanity.

To act like Jimmy could have won multiple Super Bowls vastly undersells how difficult it is to win. Rodgers and Brees don’t have multiple Super Bowls, Marino doesn’t even have one.

Besides which, it ignores the reality of Brady's contract (viz., his 2015 extension after SB49) and 28–3 (imagine trading Brady after that performance).

To stick it to bill in the division? That would be wild. They have a defense. All they need is good QB play.

Yeah, their QB was playing for the Pats last year throwing up interceptions like they were Christmas presents. Average or maybe slightly above at best. They are SB favorites with TB12

This really hurts. I always had hope he would be back.
Thank you for all the memories Brady, you gave us fans so much joy over the last twenty years. Wish nothing but the best for you.
It will be so strange to not have him on the field in September in a Patriot uniform :(

We have been to multiple SBs and won an additional title. That is not "****ing it up".

There is no reason to believe that the same would have happened with JG. That is pure speculation.

If anything odds are JG would have been injured through some of that time.

Why can't you guys read.

I didnt day I wanted jimmy, I am saying that if you trade jimmy, you don't ****ing **** around with brady and let him walk

If you do, then why did you trade jimmy

Tom left because bill gave him no alternative.

WE HAVE NO ****ING OFFENSE

Was brady supposed to spend the next two years getting beat up with no superbowl aspirations to show for it?

We havent done a thing to fix the offense and in the meantime we've only exponentially got worse.

Glad we got mccourty on a team friendly deal tho!!!!!

Newsflash. It's been ONE DAY of Legal Tampering. How do you know that Bill didn't give Brady any alternative? OH. You don't. You're just too ignorant to understand that.

Like so many others, you don't seem to understand that the Patriots can free up close to 40M in cap space. That would have allowed them to bring Brady back AND go out and get some weapons. Brady chose not to wait.

Ah, okay I gotcha now.

Correct. What was Bill supposed to do? You can’t have both QBs.

Maybe you commit to the one you kept?

Call me crazy but that sounds reasonable.

Bill Belichick statement ends this way: "Sometimes in life, it takes some time to pass before truly appreciating something or someone, but that has not been the case with Tom. He is a special person and the greatest quarterback of all-time.”

Trading Gilmore while his value is highest at least needs to be discussed. If Diggs can go for that, what could Gilmore command?

Trading Gilmore only frees up 3.8M in cap space. What would be the point?

News flash.

Brady was done atleast since last summer.

Your perception on the situation is wrong.

Devastated.

Don't care if that sounds overly dramatic or if that means my priorities are out of whack.

Tom has been an important part of my life and - some bad years - one of the better parts of my life was looking forward to watching him.

It's not quite the worst case scenario (that would be a very public blow-up between Tom and Bill) but it's close.

Cam Newton is available for trading.

If the choice came down to Dalton or Newton, I would go for Newton.

The best-case scenario is that Stidham ends up being better than both.

Get picks. If you could get a crazy number of picks, gotta consider it unless it kills us on dead money.

It's better to get the news from Brady, Kraft and Belichick than some out-of-town reporter all excited about some team's chances to win the Super Bowl or whatever. I will root for Brady in whatever he does unless it somehow gets in the Patriots' way on their journey to the playoffs and a championship.

I hope he goes to the NFC and stays out of our way.

Onward, ladies and gentlemen. There's no reason to think that the fundamental building blocks for continued success are not in place and that the Patriots can't win the division and compete for an AFC championship.

The Patriots organization is still operating at a championship level with discipline, resilience and a commitment to teamwork.

Now the team and belichick can officially move on with strategic moves and team building. I have felt this month of waiting was kinda a huge waste of time.

Mayne you commit to the one you kept?

Call me crazy but that sounds reasonable.

Hmm.. JG was traded in October of 2017. Are you saying that they didn't commit 2.5 more years to Brady? Are you saying they didn't give Brady $28M in new money during that time?

Call me crazy but you seem to be ignoring things that happened after the trade.

So is patsfans.com gonna die down now that Brady's gone? Since sooo many people said they're done with the NFL when Brady's gone? Or gonna wait for the other wheel (BB) to fall off before jumping off the bandwagon?

Honestly look at the team right now and tell me... How in the world is there so little talent and cap room left.

It's the best decision for all parties involved. Brady deserves a more talented roster and BB can finally prove that he is the true master mind of the dynasty.

With that being said. I'm still shocked to my very core. It's one of those rare "Where were you when it happened" moments that you'll always remember.

The GOAT has left the building.
