Brady gone

So, in the end, I think we can infer that he's sick of Belichick's style.

I think Tom realizes at this point in his career he needs a good compliment of solid wide receivers, tight end and running game. Unfortunately, the pats couldn't sign Tom and have the cap space to give him what he needs to be successful. The pats offense is rebuilding and Tom realizes he doesn't have time to break in younger receivers or possibly a rookie tight end (you could see his frustration on the field last year).

I also think BB likes what he has in Stidham and he is a better fit to work with Harry, Meyers and possibly a young tight end. It will be interesting if Tom's new team try's to trade for Edelman. Endings are never fun especially when you have to say goodbye to the greatest QB of all time.

We're finally going to get that Belichick vs Brady SB this season. My money is on the one true GOAT.

This is an interesting point I read on reddit.

Similar to what KC runs?

Have Tyreek Hill run really fast and a freak athlete like Mahomes buy time and throw perfect 60-yard dimes on the run?

Sure seems like a good plan...

That 1 year deal put him at the 6th highest paid QB in the league.

He deserved more than a 1 year deal. He deserved a commitment from the Patriots to end his career here. I guarantee you this: Brady will retire before his skills decline to below top 10 QB in this league. He would have done the same with the Patriots.

Brady was gone the minute Kraft cut Brown.

This was so damn clear, especially as the season wore on and Brady displayed clear aggravation even while undefeated.

Hilarious watching the people on here doing mental gymnastics and twisting themselves into pretzels to try and say it had no barring. Wrong!

Please all of you come collect your crow.

May not been about money...I suspect Btrady wants to prove he can win a different system with a different coach and erase all the "system QB" disses
That could also backfire miserably

If he fails then he has to deal with the he was only great because of BB and the system talk

He gave me 20 great years. Best of Luck to him

2020 is a baaaaaaad year for me.....
Can we skip 2020???

I’m going to need a break from this board if we get Dalton. That’d be insanely dumb

Tom left because bill gave him no alternative.

WE HAVE NO ****ING OFFENSE

Was brady supposed to spend the next two years getting beat up with no superbowl aspirations to show for it?

We havent done a thing to fix the offense and in the meantime we've only exponentially got worse.

Glad we got mccourty on a team friendly deal tho!!!!!

Looks like someone hates the 8 ringed wonder of the world.

That's your issue, bud.

You may not recognize it, you may not like it, you may not even respect it. But this is what greatness looks like:

Well this helps explain thrm signing dmac and franchising Thuney

end of an era... unreal

I love TB. He changed the Patriots into a non stop contender year in year out I wish him well for his future endeavors unless it is against the Pats.

Now that being said, last season was a struggle for everyone. Brady was slightly off for most the season. Just a little high, gust a little wide. Might have been an injury, might have been father time we shall see.

The one thing I cannot see is Brady all of a sudden able to familiarize himself with an entirely new WR corp. He has always struggled with 'the new guy' on the team, although he found chemistry with Brown quickly. He has always shined with a Welker/Edelman type slot receiver but was never a deep threat with the one exception of Moss.

So my thought is this, if Brady can find a team with star players he may shine still, but please TB don't go out with a whimper.

Let's hope BB has a plan in place because you're not only replacing the GOAT QB/player, you're replacing the greatest leader of all time as well. His presence in the locker room brought stability made others fall in line to the 'Patriot Way'. His clutch play made it easier for the defense to take risks knowing somehow they were never out of a game with TB on offense. The intangibles more than anything is what TB brought to the team.

let's hope ?

BB 100% sure he has a plan...we should know him...:)

I think we can forget about him. No way we lose enough. We still have a good team

A good enough team to go what? I don’t think this is a playoff team right now. Learning curves with the new QB.

Trading Gilmore while his value is highest at least needs to be discussed. If Diggs can go for that, what could Gilmore command?

I will say, however, that going this route is a bit unoriginal legacy wise.

I get Brady wants a new environment to demonstrate his ability in, but think of countless QBs who came before him, who did precisely the same thing: Montana, Favre, Manning. Now he gets lumped in that category, rather than being the guy who not only had the greatest career statistically, but spent his entire career with the same team; special territory.

Had Brady stayed here and finished his career, that would've positioned him in a unique place in history, and almost certainly added to his legacy from that particular perspective.

I'm not entirely convinced that had the Patriots offered a contract similar to whatever he will receive, that he would necessarily have stayed. He wasn't happy here for whatever reason(s), and I think that's a shame, to be honest.

I am sad that the goat is gone, but the division can still be won as long as we have Belichick.

Montana, Favre, and Manning were all replaced though.
