Brady gone

How many TEs has BB drafted in 19 years? I'm not counting 2000 when they had to use the crap from Grier.

Love, Holloway, Graham, Nead, Watson, Stokes, Mills, Thomas, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Derby, Izzo.

Izzo the jury is still out on.
Thomas gave them a decent year as the #3 TE behind Graham and Watson. Then Thomas missed most of a season with an injury. He then came back and started 10 games in 2008 but wasn't really a part of the offense because of Moss, Welker, Gaffney, and Faulk.

Nead, Stokes, Derby and Izzo were all late round picks. (6th/7th rounds)

The way I see it, you have 4.5 out of 8. Pretty good.

Including using a 2nd round pick to draft the GOAT of TE's.

If Brady wanted to prove he could win without Belichick, he should have done this 5 or 10 years ago. QB’s age a helluva lot faster than coaches.

There was no way BB was going to give Brady what he wanted in terms of input. No one is above the team, that’s why they have won.

Can the Pats cut McCourty and Slater now? Might as well save the money. Sanu should be gone too.

Feeks like someone just died.

Meanwhile Saints managed to lock up Brees for 2 years 50 Mil total

Which the Patriots couldn't have done with Brady because they don't have any cap space...

One thing that's nuts when I look back...

I'm an old band wagon fan when the team drafted Drew Bledsoe and brought in Parcells. Since that day, I've only known two franchise QB's...Bledsoe and Brady. (and only three head coaches). I've been a fan for almost 30 years and that's just a crazy thing to think about.

Me believes that Krafts shenanigans at the Orchid day spa had more than a small part in Brady leaving.

Gisselle is all about PC and I find it hard to fathom that she was not in Toms ear to get out of NE. Furthermore, that video of Brady leaving a seedy nondescript looking building was really odd like it was directed at Kraft.

A younger Brady for years had the ability to raise the players around him. That time has passed.

BB knew this and tried to run to a run first Offense, we say that during the SB run, The plan last year blew up with the injuries to Devlin, Andrews, Wynn and nagging injuries to Canon and Mason last year.
They tried signing AB to change direction when it became clear plan A wouldn't happen.

Last year’s offense was a joke be fair. A lot of things went wrong.

and this guy is taking victory lap over devastating day for pats fans

Was he fv^king one of Brady's sisters? He sure sounded sure of himself and he was right. Dude's got fv^ked up ears though. Maybe he can afford an operation now.

If I remember things correctly — and am reading links like the one below correctly — the Patriots and Brady actually agreed on a two-year contract last August. For $70 million.

Tom Brady signs 2-year, $70 million extension with Patriots | Boston.com

From the story:
"Tom Brady has never known what it’s like to play out the final season of a contract in his 20-year NFL career, and the New England Patriots superstar quarterback isn’t about to find out."

But that changed and Brady decided he wanted to leave all options open at the end of 2019. I don't think that any of us can say why, what's driving it. But to me, I felt like Brady just wanted to try something different, for whatever reason. He's smart enough that he likely didn't expect Belichick to sway from the way he's been doing business the past 20+ years. It seems he got an offer and met with Kraft — playing out as I understand they agreed it would — and they all decided to move on.

I think both sides made decisions in their own perceived best interests and for that I don't think "blame" is in play. Much as the hot takers will play it that way.

Belichick doesn't believe Brady is worth paying a massive salary for, I think that is clear. Otherwise, the Patriots would not waste a franchise tag on Thuney when they already have paid Shaq Mason. The writing was on the wall, we just refused to see it.

The other shoe has finally dropped. This past season I felt it was not a question of if, just when. BB didn't want TB unless he took a team friendly discount and TB wanted to be paid at the same level of other top QBs. With the tight cap space and several gaping holes to fill, NE wasn't the best spot to finish his career with a realistic shot at a SB.

Very cool. I have been a fan since 2000 so I have nothing to complain about. Let’s hope the next guy goes 20 years haha

Can't believe some of you are shocked at all... Reports now say the 2 sides never talk before Toms statement. If that is true that is pretty ****ing sad. To not even have a conversation about coming back? That is the shocker for me if that is true. Not him leaving

If bill thinks stidham is the guy i hope he has a better offense than the one out in place right now or maybe they’re looking to get that number 1 pick or just go 8-8 or 7-9.
