Brady gone

They're trying to find a way to justify it.

It's going to be one of the worst "in Bill we trust" decisions he's made.

Brady is 43, his plan was to play until 45. Losing the last two years of Brady will certainly not be the worst of his decisions.

Hell, if we had not been in almost every SB and won a title since then moving on from JG for 2 years of Brady might be an even worse decision.

Uh, maybe because they wanted to stay and Brady didn’t?

Yeah but you get the vibe here that Brady hated it because of Bill, yet 2 dudes who could have left, in the same boat same team since drafted...stayed.

It's only a good move if Stidham is a 1 year tank the season for a high draft pick solution.

I'd be very, very surprised if he turns out to be anything close to a franchise QB.

I'd love to be wrong on this of course.

I think it was time for him to retire instead of going on as I don't think any team is going to win a championship with him at 43 years old unless they had a #1 defense the likes of the 85 Bears
With that being said I wish Brady the best on his last year or two and hope he can still enjoy the game with his new team - Its a new era for the Patriots and for the first time in 2 decades this will show whether Belichick can win consistently without Brady and vice versa

This definitely feels like the beginning of the rebuilding era just like it has for all other dynasties before and will separate the bandwagon fans who jumped about the train the minute Vinatieri's kick sailed through the uprights and for those like myself who suffered through the 1-15 seasons with pride and hope for the future and will remain a fan.

justify it? I've been looking forward to it......... Pats fan base needs an enema anyway

lol. It won’t be. ****, once they see how poor he looks on his new team with zero offseason work...plus injuries...gonna look at Stids and say..meh not bad.

Keeping Jimmy was the better long term plan to take, he's better than Stidham ever will be and they'd have still been able to get a kings ransom for Brady from San Fran.

I never pay attention to Volin--like, at all--but just seeing his tweets pop up on the right here, it's just one little negative remark after another. Weird.

All good things come to an end. We'll never see this kind of run in our lifetime or ever. Lucky we were fans of the team that did it!

We were indeed lucky to have him for 20 years. Most QB's would have retired by age 40 so we did have a few additional years and couple of SB's. I'm going to hate seeing him in another uni and I hope it's Tampa instead of LA. I don't want to have to suffer seeing him playing against the Patriots.

If he does keep playing, I will watch every game he plays that I can, unless it on at the same time as the Patriots. And I will root for him. I would have preferred to have had him retire as a Patriot, but how and the hell can I complain. I never though that I would get to see the Greatest of All Time play in a Patriots uniform.

So, good luck TFB.

This is 100% on Kraft.

He messed with the personnel mid-season, then stepped back and did nothing.

Either we trade up in the draft or make stidham the starter. Teddy bridgewater or Andy Dalton won’t put us in the position to win.

simply cannot pony up 50M+ to a 43 year old.......better to tank for 1 year than for 3......the broncos still have not recovered from their manning episode

This will be the biggest mistake of Brady's career. He will never find success or even get a sniff at another Super Bowl with either the Chargers or Buccaneers. He should have just retired. This is not going to end well for Tom.

Listen, I love brady but to me this sounds like he had no desire to even return. Especially if he is considering crap bag franchises like the chargers or bucks who both have abysmal lines.

For some reason, at 43 brady decided to act like a 30 year old brady and go for the money. But let's be honest, while some of last year was due to the roster we cannot absolve brady of all the blame.

Maybe. Maybe not. It will forever just be speculation. Fact is by keeping Brady we went to multiple SBs and won a title. That actually happened.

Remember that just last week Volin said Brady was coming back. He’s useless.

Sure. If.
If NE goes 5-11 with Stidham, will you be MUCH more sad than 9-7 w Brady ?

I’ll go with “I’d be more sad to see Brady stick around to crawl through an 8-8 season”. That would be sad.

The Broncos haven't recovered because they thought Osweiller was going to be the future and it didn't work out.
