Brady gone

Why do you people keep spouting this nonsense?

They're trying to find a way to justify it.

It's going to be one of the worst "in Bill we trust" decisions he's made.

You are confusing “wanting” with “being ok with it”.

If NE goes 7-9 w Stidham, does it make you MUCH more sad than 9-7 w Brady ?
If.

In other news, despite CDC's request for people not to gather, the Cities of Buffallo, Miami, and NY/NJ have announced a parade for this Saturday. :(

We won't know about why the decisions were made for months or years so we can only speculate.

A QB playing at 43 thinking he is championship quality has never been done and he is determined to play for two more years (at least).

Personally I think he should have retired after the LA Rams Super Bowl win. Going out on top as the best to ever play should have been his crowning achievement.

But like a boxer who doesn't know when to quit, part of it pride part of it specious reasoning they can still win.

Brady will only go to a team which is play-off bound and has a strong chance of winning another championship. With the various moves made already in free agency this only leaves him the Colts or the 49ers. I think both Tampa Bay and Miami are too far away from competing.

Brady may want to live in Miami. Giselle being Brazilian might want this move too.

I think Brady wants to play for San Francisco, his childhood team but getting him there would be extremely difficult.

Read it. Not convinced he's gone. Negotiating ploy? Denial on my part?

He flat out says he won't be playing in NE and that he's starting a new chapter of his football life..

I’m ready to die from coronavirus now

Hmm, looks like my take that Kraft cutting AB was the straw that broke the camel's back was CORRECT all along....

Really just at a loss for words. Don’t think it’s gonna sink in for awhile. We all knew this was a possibility but now it has just been confirmed and it’s numbing.

We’ll see how it play out. But right now, to be part of something so great as this man provided just needs some reflection. Too weird.

Not surprised. The writing was on the wall when Bill extended McCourty leaving us with no cap room.

As a recent thread mentioned, we could have created the cap space. The issue is that would have still left no room for Brady to get the help he needs.

5 wins? Please? Get a grip. Funny thing. Our Doberman passed last Nov. As we were going through videos of his younger days and we realized just how much he had slowed down over the years but we never really noticed it. Same deal as Brady. Look at his 2014 season versus 2019 and how the ball came out.

Things will be fine. I’m excited as all hell.

Look at the schedule next season and look at how BB is awful at drafting WR and TE and tell me who this team is going to beat to get more that 5 wins. Buffalo and Miami are better teams than the pats. Jets are probably not but who knows now?

Pats have over 8M in cap space and can free up 27-40M more if they want to..
Had they agreed on a deal, they would have pushed 6.75M of Brady's dead money into 2021 instead of having to eat the entire 13.5M this year.

I'm just glad we have an answer one way or another. The endless speculation was tedious.

Via con dios, Brady. It was a once in a lifetime run. Forgive me if I don't wish you luck where ever you land because this is sports.

I look forward to you signing that one day contract a couple of years from now so you can retire a Patriot.

So when is the season going to be cancelled?

I don't think that would have allowed us to give him the weapons he deserves

The last few weeks have put all this into perspective but nevertheless as a Patriots fan this is very sad and disappointing.

This is miserable. Feels like being stabbed, to be honest. I'll get over it quickly, it's only football, but I never thought I'd see this day come. Bring on the Stidham, Foles, Newton, Winston, Bridgewater, Rivers, whatever era I guess.
It's the Red Rifle era baby!
:(:mad::oops::eek:
