Are You Someone Who Is Ready to Move on From Tom Brady? If So, You Need to Stop It

Ian Logue

People appear to have reached a point where they've accepted a future that might not include the guy who gave them so many unbelievable moments. If you fall into this category. You need to stop it.

I like you, Ian. You seem like a genuine person : caring for posters, calm & patient...

I can’t agree with your take. All of us love what Brady has given us and are very thankful for his contributions. That doesn’t mean we are so attached that we can’t move on.

I’ve never “looked back fondly at my highschool or college years wishing I could return”. It was fine, it’s over, I do new things. I don’t dwell on the birth of my kids, their first years... it’s over. My grandparents played a significant role in my early years, but they have long passed. I don’t cry myself to sleep about their deaths. It’s a new day.

So why would I be bent out of shape about a stranger who played a sport so exceptionally for a team I root for ? Thank you, Brady, for your play, your professionalism, and your competitive fire. Good luck in September. If you return to NE, we’ll be cheering for you this Fall !

This is gonna end today one way or that other

It’s disappointing that this has turned into a drama which is why not only am I ready for him to move on, but I want him to move on .... Whether it’s 15M or 20M or 30M, it’s not going to make a damned bit of difference to him.....if it’s respect he wants, them he should be thinking about being with one franchise his whole career and retire in style and not with some stupid one day contract. After 20 years, he should know that the perspective the pats have is one that is about building the best roster to help him be GOAT.

stop the drama and sign a deal that gives you a chance to go out on top........otherwise, GFY......the intrigue of watching you in another uniform would be intense

20 years of Brady have been great. He cant play forever and the last 2 years he has not been great. Do we expect him to be better this year?

Let's move on to new adventures and see what happens.

I'm with you Ian, I squeeze the very last bit of paste out that tube. Oh, as well as the Brady thing.

Are you someone with a different opinion? If so you need to stop it!

Anyone thinking Brady is the player he was a few years ago hasn’t been paying attention. Anyone thinking QB is the same position it was a few years ago hasn’t been paying attention. Anyone thinking rookie contract QB isn’t a big value added hasn’t been paying attention.

I could go on, but let’s just stop thinking instead. ;)

You dont know what you have until its gone.

We as Patriots fans have been so spoiled and accustomed to winning every season. Not making the Super Bowl is a bad season. Losing the Super Bowl is worst than not going at all. The Pats won 12 games last season with a cast on offense that was subpar sans Edelman and James White. The Pats Kicker, Center, Full Back all landed on IR. Virtually everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Tom Brady deserves a lot of credit for those 12 wins. Defense wins championships, but you still have to outscore the other team.

I believe Brady has 1 more Super Bowl championship in him, but that he needs a better surrounding cast.

I don't want Brady to leave, I've just accepted the odd reality that he may not want to be here.

Doesn't mean I'll appreciate him any less.

I need to stop what exactly? There is nothing I can do in my power to change anything. Brady whether stays or goes, is just a human being that has zero affect on my personal life. Even if he stays, his last game in Patriots uniform will come one day, whether I like it or not. To me, Brady leaving now or leaving in 2-3 years when he retires is the same thing as far what I can do about it, which is nothing.

People get worked out over things they have no control over. It's just a game for crying out loud. Brady is the GOAT, there will never be another one like him in our lifetime as far as I'm concerned, but people.... for the love of god, we are talking about a sport here, it's entertainment - GET A GRIP! or better yet: GET A LIFE!

He'll be 43 years old come the start of the season, and his numbers have dropped every year since 2016.

Thanks for the memories and all of that, but if this is going to be 3 years of the "Tom Brady Retirement Tour, and Dog and Pony Show", no thanks.

Truthfully, I don't want the Patriots to even offer him a contract, outside of a 1-year deal for relatively short money - and if it weren't up to Bob Kraft, I bet they wouldn't.

If you believe Brady has shown a decline based on the talent around him, then I respectfully disagree. Compare 2013 to 2019, and let me know how those years are drastically different. If you didn't watch that season, then I encourage you to do so.

I expect Brady remains the best QB, even if he has lost some ability from his prime (that will happen with age). If you want that illusory great QB, then the team likely has to tank a season before an actual good QB shows up on the roster if and when the draft offers that possibility. Brady is a lottery ticket and nobody, including the Pats, knew what they had on draft day. I don't relish the idea of becoming the Broncos when Brady leaves, and that is likely until they endure some really bad years. Brady can still win if he has people to throw to, and I don't see a better alternative if I want to enjoy an actual competitive season.

Brady isn't stopping talent from joining the team He never has. The Pats have added talent. Just not at receiver and tight end.

JAG had an awful game with all the talent he needed around him and came up short. Kirk Cousins as well. Mahommes ain't coming to the Pats. Lamar Jackson couldn't win by throwing the ball, and won't have a long shelf life running as he does. So who is the knight in white armor if that guy isn't Brady?

Brady's time will end. I am just hoping it isn't today. Love what he's done (but that shouldn't keep a player who cannot play on the roster), but I still believe he is the best hope for one more round before the sad times hit. Having lived through a bunch of those years pre-2001, I don't yearn for a return of less than competitive football. A mediocre or bad QB virtually assures that.

Tommy moved on mentally a year ago, why can’t I?

Correct me if my memory has failed me... but in 2019... I distinctly remember Team-First Tommy spewing recurring themes...
upload_2020-3-17_8-12-38.jpeg

At the same time, Self-serving Tom used most every appearance in front of a microphone during the team’s winning streak to shill for his TB12 brand.
To paraphrase Corporate Tommy: “Did you see my pliability out there thanks to my patented TB12 products, coming soon to a store near you.”

To review:
Brady demands his NE handcuffs be removed.
Brady puts his house on the market.
Brady removes his kids from local schools.
Brady publicly deflects from any responsibility for the offensive woes
Brady uses most every opportunity in front of a microphone to tout his brand.
And while we are at it, let’s not ignore his insufferable social media antics designed to toy with NE supporters.

Brady moved on last year......what the fans think is irrelevant

It's over.

What do I need to do now, Ian?

continued...
It was a fantastic 20 years
I don’t need 10% more (2 years)

OT:
And trying to view this through Belichick’s eyes, I could understand why he wouldn’t want to extend the Brady drama another 2 years.
