The Tom Brady rumor thread

How are Indy and Buffalo not aggressively pursuing Brady?
If Buffalo wasn’t so damn stubborn about Allen, they should be going after him. Brady would instantly put them in the mix for the Super Bowl

If the Patriots can get a long term deal with Thuney done that brings his cap hit in a 7M, and a deal with HT to reduce his cap hit, then the Pats have plenty of room to re-sign Brady and have him with a manageable cap hit since signing Brady before he becomes a free agent keeps the dead money from the old contract at 6.75 for this year and next. They could work out a deal in the 3yr/81-90M range rather easily and keep Brady's cap hit for this year manageable.

Any idea as to what kind of structure that would look like? What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking something like the following:
3 yrs - 81M. M 30SB / 53.5M total guaranteed. (1st two years salary)

year 1 - $1M salary - 10M New SB pro-ration, 6.75M old pro-ration = 17.75M Cap Hit
year 2 - $22.5M Salary - 10M SB pro-ration - 6.75M old pro-ration = 39.25M cap hit
year 3 - $27.5M salary - 10M SB pro-ration = 37.5M cap hit.

The Patriots could add a dummy year at the end like they did with the previous contract to smooth the numbers out some.

It’s why I’ve handed you your ass on a silver platter in this thread.

Kontra the genius he's smarter than everyone else. You see he knows BB to be a below average coach while pretty much everyone else on the planet thinks he's the best.

I agree that the length of the contract may be too long, too much of a commitment for the team to make. That said, it might be possible to use the logic that he suggested with the dummy year, only coming in year three instead.

Despite not having his starting LT for 8 games and not having his starting center for 16 games and a carousel at WR and not TEs worth a damn, Brady still had good numbers. Still threw for over 4,000 yards. Still had 24TD to only 8 Ints.

What's YOUR solution?

Wait and see what brees gets please

Remind me again what Dallas’ record was that year and who beat them in the playoffs?

Cool. Shall we have a talk about the teams around him then in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2017, and 2019 and take a closer look at the personnel those seasons? Each and every single one of them featured some very curious and bad personnel issues. The fact stands. BB’s decisions likely played a role in Brady not winning more. Finally, chew on this: the man that you’re defending HIMSELF has even said that players win the games on the field while coaches can only lose them. You think he was full of ****? He was dead-on correct.
Cowgirls are a dog and you know it.

Bashing BBs record and career is a great way to win an argument. Do you really want to do that?

Just stop.

According to Miguel, the Patriots just got 3.25M in sal cap relief from the Aaron Hernandez greivance. This brings their free amount to over 8.6M. With the ability to free up another 27-40M, I could see the Pats getting a deal done as early as today.

All great things must end.

Where is this 40 mil coming from?

Gilmore extension?

Some of you guys are so ridiculous. How can you just blatantly ignore the Eluemenor tender offer?#dynastystillon

As a lifelong Bulls fan, I never imagined seeing MJ in a different uniform other than the Bulls.

It happened to basketballs GOAT, it can happen with Brady.

Hoping he stays though.

“PlayerS” not one player.

Jordan never won a title until Bird was gone.

Are you suggesting that BB the GM should have predicted that BB the coach would bench his starting CB for the SB?:D
