You clearly don't give a **** how it happens. Creating chaos in times of chaos is stupid.
WTF are you agitating over? The "coup" comment was hyperbole. Time for you to take a breather, maybe slip into that robe and sip a White Russian. ;)

You are full of ****.

You have been railing at a fever pitch for the past week the failings of Trump and the govt and you're telling me to take a breather?

Trump f-up. The govt f-ed up, Every country f-ed up. You think continuing to ***** about it helps?

You deserve to be called out for calling for a governmental overthrow. Typical of progressives. Backtracking and blaming someone else for misinterpretation.

Own it.

C.R.E.A.M.

As for Spanish flu. That was 100 years ago. Times and expectations are different. I think this is a little different given the fact that at the very least the second time this has happened.

strong claim about Spanish Flu originating in Kansas. That’s not scientifically agreed upon

I mean, I agree with your comment that China should regulate its markets and animal trade better (for the sake of their own countrymen, and for the world), I just don't think there's any realistic way for the US or international community to "hold them to account" on it. I also wish the US could be held to account for many of the horrible things we've done, but alas.

Its worth trying, At least indirectly if not directly.

Edit: and if there’s no way they can be held responsible for what happened with COVID-19, The entire world needs to be on there backs about ensuring an outbreak doesn’t happen like this again.

there are papers from 5 years ago highlighting the high risk of coronavirus being transferred from bats to humans

Sure you can. Any trade deal, whether it's multilateral or bilateral, could require it. After all, this is the second pandemic China has caused due to poor regulation of their meat markets.

Oh get off your effing high horse. Yes, I posted about a coup and immediately walked it back, edited my posts and later posted a mea culpa. It wasn't serious anyway, I'm not THAT much of an idiot. But a word of advice for you, my friend: tread very, very lightly with your "typical progressives" B.S. lest YOU be labeled something you might not want to see stick. For the record I'm no liberal, OK? What I am is an American angry as hell over an incompetent federal administration whose bungled approach to this crisis will cost more innocent lives than necessary. I have a courageous wife working overtime on the front lines of this fiasco in an acute care hospital ward. By extension I have a bigger stake in what's going on than you do, so pardon me for getting a tad on edge about it and using this place to blow off a little steam. So sorry if it tweaked your precious sensibilities. ;)

I don’t think you can hold China accountable for the virus itself, but I would welcome international laws to prevent attempted cover ups. The initial Doctor that discovered this was hushed up and threatened. Had they sounded the alarms then, this all may have been avoided. Withholding information about certain types of viruses and diseases (those that could be linked to pandemics per medical standards) should be an international crime and perhaps a crime against humanity. The consequences can reasonably amount to genocide.

Wuhan hospital announces death of whistleblower doctor Li Wenliang - CNN

Li was among a number of supposed "rumormongers" detained in December for spreading news about the virus. He had warned about a potential "SARS-like" virus spreading in Wuhan. Nothing Li said was incorrect, but it came as officials in the city were downplaying the severity of the outbreak and its risk to the public.

There were more apparent efforts to control the narrative even after Li's death -- leading to widespread anger.

Who's going to enforce it?

Having nuclear weapons means never having to say you're sorry.

No one. Until missile defense can reliably neutralize an opponents' arsenal.

They are using this whole coronavirus thing as nuclear bomb against Trump...if Obama were in charge it'd be a different story. Obama would have been "cautious" and "vigilant" in his slow response to make sure the American people were getting the best help possible...
I don't care about the Trump bashing. Every pol is a target and Trump has slipped up quite a bit as has the govt.

Tune crossed the line and he knows it. I'll leave it at that.

Who's going to enforce any aspect of any trade agreement? The other nations to the treaty could put in an out clause.

An out clause based on a totally unverifiable and unenforceable provision?

If there is another pandemic caused by a meat market, the US can get out of the deal. Moreover, you can impose sanctions.

You being such a magnanimous guy, what might help here is you appointing yourself board ombudsman. Then you can compile a list of prospective transgressions and where the "lines" shouldn't be crossed so it'll be handy for future reference. That sort of thing is very important on anonymous Internet message boards with so much at stake!

Sanctions against the world's largest trading partner and manufacturer? A country with nuclear weapons? Sounds like you're really thinking this scenario through.

Tom Hanks and wife are over the virus. Australia has instituted treatments with chloroquine. an old anti-malarial, immunosuppressive drug and reporting a level of early success.

As far as the latest reports on a vaccine...one claims trials to begin with availability in a year.OK, then another, given by a woman MD in camouflage from Walter Reed states the drug they already have to combat Ebola looks like it's effective against corona. What's the truth? I'm a cynic. A few weeks back the US turned down help from Europe for epidemic supplies. Why? I think the military industrial complex is on top of this in THEIR own self interest. I feel the general population will be last on the totem pole when vaccine is made known.

as far as YOU, Patriot fan is concerned...stop the bullying and back biting. Respect others opinions and look to assist members in need with words of SUPPORT and SOLIDARITY. My 2 cents...and as one with COPD, recent pneumonia episodes, pleural effusion and congestive heart failure, I am doing my BEST to keep in good health and look to pass on ANY information I run across that may be of help to others. We have far too many extremely intelligent folks here who have been engaged in mud fights the past few weeks. We don't need any more mud slinging, we need solidarity and information to help our Pats fan community.

Thanks for staying engaged.

Joker, given that you have dealt with COPD and pneumonia recently, please get yourself some N-acetyl cysteine (NAC). That stuff could go a long way towards helping you if you get COVID, and in general.

FYI, I have 0 financial interest in anything Vitacost or NAC related; just wanna help out a forum buddy.

What are you talking about? You think any nation with nuclear weapons is going to use them on us if we sanction them? We've sanctioned Russia many times before, in case you haven't been following world politics, which it sounds as if you haven't. If the Chinese want to continue to have a fair trade deal with the US, then they will agree to monitor their own meat markets and if a pandemic occurs it will trigger certain clauses in the trade agreement.
