Dak Prescott, upon seeing the Tannehill numbers:

Do you think brady is pissed that this happened before free agency ? Knowing he lost little leverage. Sure he can sign with chargers, raiders. Or tampa but knowing titans was the biggest threat for us to lose brady

Tom's money number just went up, as long as he's willing to move on.

Don’t know him personally but something tells me tagging Henry isn’t going to sit well with him. He had to try hard for an entire year :p Ofcourse it was the final year, and I predict if he signs that ft he’s gonna have some injuries that just make him want to sit out.

Tannehill has to be the worst contract in sports right? Dude was good for 3-4 games than threw like 12 passes in the post season. Absurd deal by Tennessee

Owner must be liking Lauren Tannehill’s assets.

Tannehill was an improvement over Mariota. But that ain't saying much. This is just a bizarre signing. Dude wasn't the reason they got to where they did.

I was listening to Sirius XM this afternoon. One of the hosts, Alex Marvez, said the new CBA includes a previously unreported cap exemption for resigned veteran players. Each team now can sign up to 2 of their own veteran free agents and exempt up to $1.25 million for each from the cap. It’s not earth shattering, but it’s an extra $2.5 million of cap space. I’m thinking both Slater and McCourty would qualify. In Slater’s case, depending on the bonus he got, applying this exemption might make his 2020 cap hit very minimal.

Ravens got a damn good DE for a 5th round pick...I expect them to be in the AFC Championship next year.

He was extremely good for 10 games, not 3 or 4, led the league in passer rating. Granted they are/were not a pass-first team and without a RB like Henry he will not look like that again, but I think this is just what QB contracts look like now.

By your metrics the Garoppolo contract is much much worse. He had played less, got paid more, amd threw even less in the playoffs.

Garroppolo wasn’t a proven average below average player at the time, Tannehill is proven to be average. Might as well sign some other average when to be mediocre at 20mill and stack your team

Like who? Mariota? You're living in the past. Who cares if he was average with one of the worst franchises in sports in 2015? I'm not saying he's a HOFer, but Tannehill led the league in passer rating. He was extremely efficient and perfect for what the Titans wanted to do offensively. You're judging the contract number based on completely outdated contract values.

Mariota is probably the only free agent QB who will sign a deal for less than $20m AAV, and that's only because he likely won't be signing as a presumptive starter. Nobody makes $20m or less except for guys on rookie deals or aging veterans on the last years of contracts signed 4-6 years ago. Jacoby Brissett's deal is $28m for Christ sakes.

But hey, let's pay brady below 20 because Bill mishandled the cap and has a 13 mil dead spot with brady wether hes here or not.

Bill is a genius but he ****ed this one up really badly
