Gladney rated in the 60s to me seems super low. I think he’s one of the best corners in this class.

And then regarding Love, he has him as his 21st rated player but says he wouldn’t take him round 1? For a qb needy team if you like the potential wouldn’t it make sense to get him back half of R1 for that extra year on the rookie contract?

Agree about Gladney, though I have less than zero interest in drafting a CB during either days 1 or 2...
Also noticed that comment about Love...strange indeed...

Agreed on corner. Need to be looking to infuse some youth in the front 7 and any picks in the secondary should be at safety with the loss of Harmon and ages of chung, mccourty.

While I'm all for adding talent or value, this CB class looks noticeably poor to me

Maybe related to how loaded the WR class is

- Boise St WR John Hightower at #78? No feckin way...

- A little surprising to see top-100 love for Penn St CB John Reid...I like him also, but that's just a bit too rich for my blood...

- Baylor CB Grayland Arnold at #103? Don't think so...

- Auburn OT/G (& UMass alum) Jack Driscoll at #113 is a classic case of versatility/intangibles over raw athleticism, though it's not like he's a fat slob or anything...Same with UNC's Charlie Heck at #118...

- My man Dalton Keene at #128!

- And finally, Tulane Slot WR (& BGC favorite) Darnell Mooney at #140 seems to confirm a player that's on the rise...

I could see BB/McD targeting Gibson with a later 3rd. There's some very creative things you can do with him.

He's someone to keep an eye on definitely. James White is a free agent after next year. Could be a situation where he spends a year learning from White, then taking over that role. His size and speed in that role would be very intriguing.

First time I'd seen your board - so interesting to go through previous years - off the cuff you made quite a few really good calls.

Very interesting to me that you don't have Chase Young rated as high as other rushers in previous years. Does your grading system translate year to year, or is it best to just assess each big board by itself?

I was a bit surprised Young didn't grade out higher tbh. I thought he'd get 9-something. Ended up higher than Nick Bosa but yea a little surprised by that.

As far as your second question I'm not quite sure I understand it.

I don't really change much from year to year. Year's back when I first started I only went off film & my gut. Around 2013-14, I started using simple test results from the combine/pro Day. Basically grade a player from a position pov & an athletic profile. Average those and I get what I get. Haven't changed it since.

Bobby D looked at them last year, there's a thread here somewhere. I want to compare them to others though. TB helmet looked at mine and the NFL using the AV value from pro football reference. It would be nice to have some sort of accurate take on draft grades.

It's a huge event, hobby & business. But so little is known about who really does well at projecting prospects.

It's different than what teams do during the draft. Teams have a select # of picks. Sometimes scattered throughout the draft in less than ideal order. GM's have a different task. People don't distinguish that enough or even at all that I've seen.

But every year there's a ton of people who do this as well. It would nice to have some type of formula or scale you can use to see who does well. Would only shed light and provide info on the process. Which is far from perfect, so again I think it would be cool.
