The Tom Brady rumor thread

Last year Bill didn't want to give a 42 year old QB a multi year deal (understandably in my view). It seems logical that he is even less likely to do so now for a 43 year old
That’s not necessarily a logical conclusion. Last year he didn’t *have* to give Brady an extension since Brady was under contract. This year’s choices are different.

The real story is that our starting QB is 43 and the only thing we have on our roster is a 4th round pick.

FYI
Sanu in ATL.....72% completion rate overall and in his final season there

Yeah. He was looking pretty decent here until he too went down with injury. You missed that?

Do you think Belichick is going to suddenly start valuing sentimentality over economics and results? Would anyone want him to?
No one is suggesting sentimentality here. Brady makes the most sense football-wise when you consider that Mariota/Dalton/Stidham are the alternatives AND Brady is not asking for a Rodgers type of extension. Honestly, extending him last year seemed like the biggest no brainer with him coming off of his 6th SB and given our overall QB situation behind him. Now we are stuck with this mess.

Brady is gone.

Giselle could be the reason why too. I do not need to suspend disbelief to suspect that GB is none too happy with Handy Bob and his treatment of women.

Excluding neophyte and jag QBs in 2019, only Brees and Jimmy G threw for shorter IAY (intended air yards per pass attempt) than TB12.
The difference between these short tossers:
Brees....74% completion rate
JG.........69%
TB.........60%

This is all assuming the issue is merely financial. It may be that Brady has no interest in returning to the Patriots at any price.

True. But every indication is that he has wanted an extension since 2017. He wants to get to 45. When BB said we are in uncharted territory and we have to go year to year that was the end IMO. Brady felt slighted and probably is gone.

Ras, are you really confused or just trying to passive aggressively disagree? It's pretty simple. Our starting QB will be 43 when the season starts, he was below average last year, he is all in a tizzy about something or other, and our succession plan is a 4th rounder who threw a pick six in his only NFL attempt. Brady has been old for 8 years. This isn't a problem that snuck up on them.

But yet she was cool having AB chillin’ at her residence and building a friendship with her husband?

Bill has to be squirming if he feels he is being leveraged to give a 20% raise to a QB that connected with targets only 60% of the time....especially given his offense is predicated on high % passes to RBs and WRs who hover around the LOS to receive the highest % passes.

Brady was a 55% passer when targeting veterans Gordon, Dorsett, Sanu

Targeting neophytes’ Harry and Meyers was surprisingly better....58%

JE ...65%

Brady is not exempt from scrutiny

BB assembled the worst WR/TR group in the league does he get blame for that as well

I agree as I don’t think it makes sense for him to stay. His familiarity with the Franchise is a major reason to stay, however, I don’t think they have the resources to maximize his final years.

My top two picks are 49ers and Cowboys. Titans are 3rd, Chargers 4th with Tampa Bay as the dark horse.

Read your post again and you’ll see why it doesn’t make sense. Brady is not on the roster anymore.
