The Tom Brady rumor thread

If the ultimate insane decision is to not bring back Brady, then bringing back Garoppolo would be the best thing that could happen, in my opinion.

Obviously it's not all up to NE...NE could give them their best offer and Brady could still go elsewhere. It would be insane not to treat him with respect during the negotiations process though...like giving him a really low offer.

Enough Already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand the hatred for the QB that lead our team to so many victories.
You are all a bunch of spoiled entitled brats.
You believe any old QB can achieve what Brady did. So be it, have fun with your dreams.
Sick of all of you hypocrits.

I agree that much of the success can be traced back to Brady.

But, I'm thinking this thread is about the speculation re: where he will play this Fall. With FA around the cornoer for the first time in his career, I don't think it's absurb to believe he might be moving on.

Of all the scenarios being posed, Brady to the niners and Jimmy coming back to the Pats is the most palatable to me. Jimmy is on a great deal for us at around $25 mil a year for the next several years and the niners are in win mode now for Brady and he gets to go home.

If this is what TB wants, I’d be happy for him. Pats would get the guy back they wanted to succeed TB. Everyone wins.

Would be a Great move for both Teams. Jimmy would do well with what we currently have on O he could grow with them.

I'd bet that SF would be willing to trade Jimmy for something reasonable too

Do not think it is going to happen, but imagine the (fun) chaos of a Jimmy return ! This board would explode. I, for one, would love to see it based on the craziness alone !

It's so old from these NostraDumbasses!

That's the 2nd most for me. Brady staying is number 1

I'm sick of it and I can't take it anymore!!!:D:D:D

Seriously anyone who doubts Brady at this age, must have forgot that he has taken the Pats to 3 of the last 4 Superbowls and won 2 of them, and should have won a third if BB hadn't benched Butler.o_O

This madness has to end!

No the 49ers are not signing Brady and trading Jimmy back. Not only does it not make sense football wise, it would leave the Pats with a 13 million dollar cap hit for Brady and a 22 million dollar cap hit for Jimmy. Plus it would eat up all of the Pats available cap space, meaning Jimmy would be throwing to the scrubs that Brady was left with.

Unless they restructure Jimmy’s deal.
Where if he’s being traded he really loses a lot of his leverage.
If Brady and San Fran want a marriage this is best case scenario for us.
If not Jimmy G
Nick Foles
Marcus Mariota
Ryan Tannennhill
Andy Dalton
Jarret Stidham

If we go to the draft
Trade up for Hubert
Or draft Cole McDonald late

From purely a football stance, it would be exciting to see how Brady would function for Tampa or the Chargers. Both teams look like successful options for Brady. Brady could prevent the Chargers from starting 0-5 like they always do and Brady in his sleep wouldn't turn the ball over like Winston does.

If the Niners were really looking at Brady how horrible would it be if they traded Jimmy G and last minute Brady signs elsewhere?
That be Lynch’s resignation I’m sure.

He came like one throw from a championship with a defense that was more or less comparable to the Patriots' last season. They had a bunch of castoff running backs. And while Kittle is great, his receivers were somehow inferior to the Patriots' (Edelman was the best receiver on either team). His coach is an offensive genius, so that helps.

I don't think he's Brady but we're in an era when there aren't many great QBs under age 35.

Well if I had to bet fifty bucks on whether I or you and Tune are right about JG I'd bet on you guys.

My thoughts:

He had multiple chances to make that one throw and didn't.

The Shanahan angle is odd or confusing. Did he not call passing plays because the run game was working or because he didn't trust JG to make the right decisions or both?

I do know that when the defense stacked the box to force JG to throw he failed to hit the hot read or missed the call at the line.

But I agree that it was his first full year and he was coming back from an injury. I also think he's an above average QB.

Is bringing him here along with the cap space implications the better move? Meaning is Stidham (or a rookie QB) plus the cap space for other players better than JG?

Anyway if Brady is gone I'd rather go the rookie QB route. BB seems to have a knack for finding decent QBs.

Florio is now claiming credit for the Brady to SF story. Really, skip Bayless mentioned it right after the super bowl.

Tom remains priority #1.

If Tom leaves, i'm ok w/ Jimmy.
