The Tom Brady rumor thread

IDK if this is going to be a sticking point in Brady's negotiations with NE. If NE says no way to Brown, then Brady may take his business elsewhere. If you put Brady and Brown on Tennessee, they'll be pretty tough to beat.
It’s irrelevant. Brady isn’t going to base his decision on a guy who has a better chance of being in jail than on an NFL team next season.

If they are constantly communicating with each other about reuniting it certainly isn't "irrelevant." If Brady is serious about playing with Brown, whether a team is going to be willing to take Brown is going to be a factor. You can almost rule out NE and Oakland if that is the case.

If they’re actually communicating about that (I’m awfully skeptical), then somebody is going to have to step in and tell Brady about how serious Brown’s charges are. The burglary with battery charge has a maximum sentence of life in prison, which obviously isn’t going to happen but still makes it clear that this isn’t some minor issue.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Brady is being encouraging to Brown (from all reports, he seems to like the guy, or at least respects the hell out of him as a player). He could be telling him that as soon as all the legal stuff is sorted out, they'll find a team together. And he might mean it. But I would very surprised if Tom is so naive about the situation that he would choose his destination based on their willingness to sign a player that is as far from a sure-thing as you can get without being dead.

I just remember when the Pats cut Brown Brady was rather sympathetic to him. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Brady is keeping Brown in the back of his mind when he signs his new contract. However, I agree it's not going to he an overwhelming factor

PFT just posted an article on a rumor that just won't go away: Brady to 49ers. Do you think Belichick would be willing to trade Brady for Garoppolo? (I don't mean literally make a trade since Tom will be UFA). I just think Belichick is praying every night to whatever he believes in that SF takes Tom, opening up a chance to reunite with Jimmy.

Brady to Kittle would be one helluva match.

You may be jumping the gun a bit with the idea that these teams are going to throw their young, star, franchise QBs out of the window to sign ANY other player for only two years, let alone one that’s coming off a down year where he battled some nagging injuries and would be playing at the age of 43 or potentially 44.

Prescott is NBC Sports’ #1 ranked free agent on its top 100 list, and Garoppolo is coming off a game where he was ten minutes away from being the MVP of the Super Bowl.
Jerry isn’t going to win with Dak. He’s just another guy you could find again. I was a big defender of Jimmy G but he’s nothing special either. When their D cracks, he gets exposed.

While Brady made some stupid throws last year, we can all agree the talent around him was atrocious. These two franchises would be making a bad mistake thinking they’re better off with these two guys over Brady.

Both Franchises haven’t won a Super Bowl in over 25 years. The likelihood of them winning anytime soon isn’t in their favor. More-so for the Cowboys but the odds aren’t in the 9ers favor to get back to the Super Bowl.

Brady would have to make the first move.

I'd take back Garoppolo in a heart beat for the right price. He's never going to be Brady but can he win a few super bowls? Yeah, I think so.

Daily comments:

1.) 15 days to go...

2.) IMO, Brady definitely knows how much of a nutcase AB is and the extremely low odds of him even playing in the NFL in September ....

3.) It's all about the CBA, IMO.

4.) I do believe that the Brady camp will at minimum shop around a bit...1-2 teams might actually fly in to talk to Brady between March 16th-18th.

5.) I believe that the Pats will make their final take it or leave it offer on March 17th and ask Brady to make a decision.

6.) God forbid, if Brady leaves, I think the Pats stand pat....and do business in FA with other positions.....then circle back and pick up the best remaining vet (e.g. Mariota) gto pair with Stidham.

After multiple suspensions. AB hasn't been suspended yet, my guess is he will be.

AB basically didn't play last season.

So what does he get for a suspension? 8 games? Plead down to 5 or 6 games. Well worth picking AB up for 10 games of his production, plus his availability for the post season.

Jimmy B is a fraud.
