They'll take Patriots' 2nd-round pick of the 2020 draft as a penalty.

I wonder how close to the draft they would be willing to steal another draft pick? Day of? Hopefully this delayed response is a good sign.

They announced the Falcons fake crowd noise penalty end of March and took their pick the following year. Wouldn’t surprise me if we hear a decision this week.

I think a lost or downgraded pick is a certainty no matter what is found- this is Goodell we are dealing with.

if only we had a real inside source like a sisters friends ex-boyfriend or something

Great job Kraft. 2019 was an outstanding year for him.

Why does the NFL drag its feet with these "investigations"?

If you look at the NFL for what it is now, which is absolute sports entertainment, then it becomes clear. It is all part of a script to drive narratives and keep interest high. I give the league massive praise for this unnoticed transition from a true sports league to pure entertainment.

Seconded. There have been a dozen random “scandals” the past few years that were all resolved in a matter of days (Steelers practice violations, Giants walkie talkie, etc). Our current situation can now be measured on the level of MONTHS. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Just gonna quote this post that I made A MONTH AGO.

Prediction- NFL will find no intent but will penalize the team under Goondell's "should have known" standard and the Pats repeat offender status...

Hannable:
It is expected the Patriots will be fined and potentially lose a draft pick not because of what they did, but because of their history with such matters.
=======

I assume he heard this from somewhere. If true then let’s see the Ravens get crushed for the Bluetooth incident and being repeat offenders when it comes to communications cheating.

If they lose another first round pick, they’ve brought it on themselves. That was either abject stupidity or out and out cheating. Ever got caught doing something you know you weren’t supposed to be doing? You could probably hear the brick that you were ****ting if you recorded your explanation and listened to it later. Well, that’s what the cameraman sounded like. Guy was obviously ****ting a brick. Could be because he knew he was about to get fired or it could be because he knew he just got caught cheating. Either way, I don’t think that’s going to be a good look for the team.

But, with all that said, there is good news. Our owner has made it a habit of taking it in the ass (probably while mouth breathing as per usual) during the last two supposed transgressions. This weird, new Kraft Fan contingent that has popped up on here in recent years has assured us with certainty that this was done in order to benefit the working relationship between the team and the NFL. So maybe we won’t lose a pick for this after all. You know... for the good of the 32. Stay tuned.

No question they deserve at least something for allowing this to happen- of all teams. If there was a link found to the football team and it was deliberate, the Pats will be looking for a new coach for this season at least and we’d lose multiple first round picks not just this draft. And every single thing this team has done in the last 20 years will be tainted permanently.

Thankfully that does not appear to be the case.

Now watch the Sox penalty be announced the same day as this one. Great way to start your weekend!

Because they want people to forget about the incident which started the whole thing. Then, when everyone has moved on, they announce what they want.
