If Brady is gone....

Can’t believe this is actually not a crazy idea. I personally think it’d be crazy, but I also believe BB would go this route.

Again, not a fan, BUT Dalton is steady, he doesn’t blame his teammates, he loves football, he’d put in the time & effort, he’d be accurate enough to tempt BB.

I feel sorry for Edleman

He doesn’t do so well on the does this guy suck factor.

The Red Popgun!!!....uh...no

Question, with the dead cap at 15mill and his cap hit at 18 million while Hopkins cap hit is 14mill, does that mean we’d be paying 14mill plus the 15mill dead cap so 29mill for Hopkins? And it says we have 3 mill in cap savings if we trade Gilmore where does that money go to our cap space for Hopkins ?

And at the trade deadline it was said Hopkins was available for a big price. I think the DPOY would be enough for a team with good WRs and need of defensive help

You'd get $3m in cap savings then add $14m in cap hit for Hopkins, so it would be a net addition of $11m against the cap.

Honestly this trade makes a lot more sense for the Patriots than it would for the Texans. The Glazer rumors were that teams were calling the Texans about a trade, but I'm guessing those calls were brief. A playoff team giving up a superstar WR in his prime with a team-friendly contract seems too wild to contemplate, even if the return is a superstar cornerback in his prime with a team-friendly contract.

Bump to this thread. We need all Brady threads active.
Just wait until we get a bunch of different Brady threads going everyday at the end of March. Yikes.

Over/under on 1000 Brady threads before FA? Probably take the over since this is 878.

than what’s the 15mill dead cap going to

So, we can have Hopkins instead of Gilmore, and it will only cost us $11M of additional cap space?
What a deal!
======
How about using the $11M to sign the best fitting wide receiver available for up to $11M and keep Gilmore?

Of course, there are even better alternatives.

Hopkins would essentially cost $29m against the cap, the $15m dead from Gilmore plus his own cap hit.

You could instead keep Gilmore and sign Amari Cooper and it would only cost you a few million more... and in that case you don't lose the best defensive player in football.

I think he's gone and it is what it is and it sucks but I am preparing myself for either Stidham or a Dalton..Teddy B type guy.

And Brady leaving will hurt my return on selling some of my tickets. I need that $$ Brady come back!

Not me. I’m one that feels he won’t be swayed by money or years. I feel he’s coming back here.

I think it's due more to wanting a change of scenery/getting out under from BB. Money will play a role. If Pats offer 20 mill..Vegas says okay 32 a year and there is that thought of..I want to try and win on my own ect. He's gone. And I think that inkling is there.

If Pats payed him one major contact say 5 years ago..I don't think any of this would be happening but who knows. That rift people talk about could be real. You just don't know.

My top 5 destinations for Tom Brady (assuming he’s not coming back):

5. LV Raiders: New stadium, lots of hype. Team up with Chucky.
4.Titans: team up with a former teammate in Vrabel. Favorable division.
3. LA Chargers: team has good pieces on O and D. It’s LA.
2. Cowboys: heads would explode if he signed there. It would be excellent for his brand. Easy division. Most likely spot to team up with AB.
1. 49ers: Childhood dream comes true. He initially wanted them to draft him and now it’s a reality. Jimmy G gets traded back to NE. Everyone wins.

It will be resolved one way or the other before the end of March.

He's going to go to a division where he has to get through Mahomes twice a year?

If he leaves, the numerous amount of threads and chatter will continue into next year. The post counts will far exceed Malcolm Butler and Antonio Brown.

Combined!

Peter King predicting Andy Dalton to Pats.

He really is the biggest assclown in all of sports, not just football.

Derp...derp...errr...just a theory...but what if I can come up with the most superficial, moronic idea possible...

ANDY DALTON SUCKS!!! F Peter King for even suggesting that the Patriots trade for the ginger choker. This scares me, because if Pats actually wound up with Dalton/Stidham for their QB next year instead of Brady, the only explanation is that they are intentionally tanking.

Who has EVER thought Dalton was anything other than a bone headed overrated loser who could never take his team beyond a wild card loss.

I can not imagine that on top of the insult of thinking that the Pats would want that steeping hot pile of dog shi*, the idea of actually trading ANYTHING for him adds insult to injury. I would much rather have Cody Kessler as the starter than Andy King Dalton
