More playoffs teams in new CBA

People against this are morons...so you want the Patriots to play meaningful games in December post Brady or do you want them 6-6 or 5-7 with absolutely no margin for error in making the playoffs...trust me, jarett Stidham or whoever plays QB next is not going to have the Pats at 10-2 come December...I'll take a spectacularly mediocre 5-7 Pat's team playing a big game on on December 5 as opposed to a team playing out the string
Please define "spectacularly mediocre."

.500 or a game or 2 below...maybe being truly "alive" with 3 or 4 games to go...not alive like Cleveland was last year needing 7 teams to lose, 3 to tie, and 5 teams to win... spectacularly mediocre? 2019 Pat's vs good teams last year...Pat's over last 9 last yr..4-5 including playoff debacle would qualify as spectacularly mediocre

They sure love the Steelers. Under these new rules the Steelers would have been in the playoffs 4 more times in the past 10 seasons. Wow. Ridiculous. Another reason to quit the NFL once Tom has retired.

For some reason the AFCN gets preferential treatment from the NYFL. Last year the Pats started the season with Pitt (maybe a good time to play the Pats) and both Baltimore and Cleveland got to play the Pats after coming off their byes. I don't feel like that was a coincidence.

Fix?

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a deal basically done pending the CBA and it was kept quiet. I don’t expect it though.

I think if the Titans move on with Tannehill, Brady will get the deal done quickly. Titans are the only team that can offer a better winning opportunity.

If I'm Vrabel, I take the risk. Tannehill's odd's of duplicating last years success is not in his favor. Also, the odds the Titans going back to the AFCCG with him are also not in their favor.

I think Vrabel could also handle AB who I think would join Tom.

Deus complaining about the weed thing but this **** is just far worse. More games just aren't anything but bad for the players if they only get token increases in labor share of income. NFLPA go home.
Shortened careers

Also under this new rule the Pats would've made the playoffs in 02 and 08...wouldd the holier than thou anti more playoff snobs have watched the Pats Playoff game in 08 and 02? Or would they have worshipped their Otto graham bobble heads and watched 70s Grogan highlight vids instead?
How many times did they get the bye? How many times did they win 4 post season games to win the Superbowl?

The irony in this... The owners get a vote... The players do... What about the coaches?

This pretty much guarantees you will not likely see any more dynasties

So stupid

Sorry if this has been posted the past week, haven’t been following the board as much as usual.

But, if the 17 week season is in exchange for more revenue going to the players, does that mean that the cap will go up when the new CBA hits and thus a big contract for Brady isn’t as bad as it might look under the current cap #?

AB is never playing again, but I otherwise agree.

What difference does it make... we're talking about just MAKING the playoffs in the next 2, 3, 4 years.... Once Brady goes it'll be considered an accomplishment to qualify... And I'm AOK w that

If he disconnects from social he has a shot. He needs to stay quiet which is torture for him.

Players apparently can’t make more than 250k in game 17. I’d expect this CBA not to happen until that’s addressed.

Tom, please retire soon. There's only so much of the NFL's ******** I'm willing to endure before tuning out completely.

EdIt: Last seasons' playoff would have been so much better with "Duck" Hodges and Jared "I'm not a liability" Goff on wildcard weekend. Goody and the 32 can sit and spin on this ****show proposal.

The NYFL has been trying to limit the Pats' success for things that were either only borderline wrong (crygate) or non-existent (defamegate). We can call that whatever we want. Luckily, the people doing the (handicapping?) are mostly former jete fans and suck at it.

In 2014, when I vowed to dump the NYFL once Brady retired, I didn't think he'd still be playing now. I almost can't wait for that day.
