More playoffs teams in new CBA

It won't come to the in the NFL. Even with 17 games, every game is going to be important.
I disagree... 17 games of running full speed and taking on collisions.. you will see teams preserve players for the Long haul especially if a bye is eliminated... The playoffs will and season will be the gauntlet... Just watch when the big names go on season ending ir

Why would I play a player in week 16..or 17 or 18 if I know I'm making the playoffs
For seeding. Very few teams are going to be locked into a specific playoff spot with 2 weeks to go. Sure, maybe a couple will with 1 week to go but that's no different than today.

If you preserve too many players, you ain't going to make the playoffs. This isn't like the NBA where a talented team can rest their starters a dozen times a year and still be the #2 seed.

I don't like the idea of expanding the playoffs or expanding the season, but this is not a change so radical as to significantly alter the strategies we already see in place.

This new playoff format will absolutely make it easier for one team to continuously make it to the Conference Championship.......maybe even the Bowl with one team having a major advantage.

This new format all but kills the need for the bye.

Chances stand very low that the team with a bye will be the team advancing to the superbowl

I feel the opposite. The two number 1 seeds arent going to win against the field more often than not.

Every team deserves to make the playoffs. And double elimination. And you’re not allowed to win if you’ve won in the previous 10 years.

don’t forget both teams get the ball in OT doesn’t matter if you score a TD first

Not sure how I feel about it, but most of the time there’s 10-6 teams getting left out of the playoffs. Doubt there will be much 7-9 even with this new format.

The NFCLeast came somewhat close to sending a losing team to the playoffs last year and the Panthers did it a few years back. As long as there are division winners from divisions with only 4 teams, anything is possible.

Why don't you think so? The other teams played an extra game, sustained possibly more injuries....that ONLY bye team needs one win to be in the Championship AT home....I'd guess the odds will be in their favor.

Glad to see the option for 16 games is still in the table. The extra 5B is over 10
Years so 500M a year. I guess a lot depends on how much the players really don’t want that extra game.

Personally hate the extra game and the expanded playoffs. It’s perfect the way it is & this is nothing more than a cash grab by people who are already billionaires. You can’t claim to be about player safety and health and then add games to the season.

Are you crazy? The bye is still the bye... *plus* HFA throughout. To act like teams aren’t going to go all out for the #1 seed is ridiculous.

Goody & the 32 know what they're doing. Adding a 7th playoff team will just lead to an 8th playoff team. Then, half of all the NYFL teams can say that they made the playoffs.

Given that neither number 1 seeds won the superbowl this year I really dont see how you think otherwise.

The bye isnt all that special if you literally cut the amount of teams who have it in half.

MLB and NHL both have seasons that are too long and the playoffs are a total crapshoot. That is the biggest reason I can’t follow these sports and might just tune in the championship round.

The NFL will probably start some propaganda campaign day 1 where they have people complain that the numbers are uneven and the schedule should be 18 games and playoffs should have 8 teams. 17 and 7 are strange numbers. Their greed is abominable.

Means absolutely nothing.

It means were gonna have alot more 2 through 7 seed winners in comparison.is what it means.

If I can't get the one seed because I simply lose to team and they have the tie breaker what's the difference between 2 and 3 or 3 and 4 as long as I get a home game. I'm just saying this encourages teams to be more judicious in resting players... We see it in the preseason now we will see it more in the regular season

Means absolutely nothing.
If you think having HFA throughout plus being the only playoff team in the conference with a bye week "means absolutely nothing" then you're clueless.
