More playoffs teams in new CBA

This stinks. End of regular season is great and now they just watered it down big time. Only one bye team now per conference

More greed and stupidity by the NFL.

Would have been the Rams and the Steelers this season. Yikes.

As part of the proposed playoff format, only one team from each conference would receive a first-round bye as opposed to the two that currently do, league sources said. That would mean a revised postseason schedule that includes six games on wild-card weekend, with three on Saturday and three on Sunday.

I love football, especially playoff football. First two rounds are some of my favorite weekends of the year.

But that is way too much. I can't do 20 hours of NFL over two days. This dilutes the product and is a net negative IMO. Four games is about what you want in terms of hype before the weekend and coverage afterwards.

NFL would be significantly worse under this scenario. ****

Every team deserves to make the playoffs. And double elimination. And you’re not allowed to win if you’ve won in the previous 10 years.

Most of the WC games I don't even watch anymore. Outside of the Pats I have really toned it down with watching other games...thanks to these changes they are helping me get off my addictive medication very easily

Not sure how I feel about it, but most of the time there’s 10-6 teams getting left out of the playoffs. Doubt there will be much 7-9 even with this new format.

Feels like eliminating the final bye will be inevitable for another team. Why wouldn’t they if the ratings are good?

So, the best record in each Conference gets the bye.
I don't like 17games.

You are going to have teams rest so many players.... Going to be similar to the NBA with not playing players. I guess everything goes bad after a while

Why would I play a player in week 16..or 17 or 18 if I know I'm making the playoffs

It won't come to the in the NFL. Even with 17 games, every game is going to be important.

The AFC would have had the 8-8 Steelers, and the 9-6-1 Steelers, in the past two seasons.
The NFC would have had the 9-7 Rams, and the 8-7-1 Vikings, in the past two seasons.


You have to go back to 2015 to find a 10 win that didn't get into the playoffs (Jets).



There's just no need for this addition. It's all about greed.

Hate it a lot. Don’t think they’ve learned anything from NHL hockey. Where as the best teams have a better chance of getting knocked off. Seen so many President Cup winners not represent over the years because of over abundance.

Whatever, could give two craps about the extra game and playoff.

However I am extremely intrigued by the possible expansion of the roster as well as how they deal with practice squad players. Right now, if they are activated they have to clear waivers and then clear waivers again when sent back down? Correct me if I’m wrong there. Wondering how this changes with a 17 game season and added playoff game? How will the IR be handled and will they increase the number you can have?
