This scenario is stupid, but read on. At the end we can make fun of media people. :)

Tom Brady resigns and one thing is Bill promises the first pick will be a wr or TE.

Then two days before the draft it comes out that Tua re-aggravated his injury in a motorcycle accident.
One day before the draft Tua post a picture of his undamaged motorcyle. Minutes before the draft the repair bill from a motorcycle repair shop is posted.

Tua drops. Right before the Patriots pick the story is debunked.

1) Do yo say, "Sorry, Tom, conditions of the day changed?
2) Who put out the first report? Who posted the bill picture if different?
3) Who put out the debunking?
4) How long before Belichick gets blamed?

My take 1)yes, 2)Disgruntled ex-girlfriend, 2a) Ian Rappaport, 3)Adam Schefter talking of "photo shop", and 4) Conversation during next pick. :)

Wait what?

What mind altering substance is being used here?

Crazy scenario. But I’ll play.

Always break your promise to a player if it means winning. Always. Apologize, pay the agreed upon salary, and move forward.

Winning in the NFL > Keeping verbal promises in the NFL

There's a ton of posts on this board that claim something like "Tom Brady will only re-sign if he's promised some real weapons"

Although he's never said that. BB never said that.

If / when Brady does re-sign, he can probably expect that the Patriots will sign some nobody like Chris Hogan or Brandan Lefell and hope that it works out (it often does). Or hope they sign a nobody like Wes Welker and it works out great.

Anyways, a nobody is my expectation.

Not going to make guesses, but my play would be:

1.) Draft Tua.
2.) Call Brady and tell him to sit tight.
3.) Call the Dolphins and trade them Tua for DeVante Parker, Preston Williams, Mike Gesicki, and a 2nd round pick.
4.) Draft another TE in the 2nd round.
5.) Call Brady back and tell him, "LFG!!!"

Read the whole thing.Wanna post a dig on McShay? Rich Esien? Oh, wait you can make a drug joke. :)
When the op is an nonsensical as this one, nothing else to do. Even MCI would have done better

That trade can't happen because of the stupidity of the rookie salary cap.

Nephew season is going swimmingly.
