Here's a truth bomb you have been avoiding

Bacon is overrated af
Wait, I thought bacon in this case was uhhhh... You know. Tony wasn't talking about uhhh, a sexual "item" men have?

I need to stop watching slug hentai...

It ain't the bacon so much as all them damn carbs. This 57 year old has cut way down the carb intake for the last 14 months, with good results, but more work to do.

Low carb diets work well for me too. Tough to stick with though. I didn't realize how important potatoes were to my sanity until I cut them out of my diet.

I dreamt Patjew returned!
I guess I was wrong...

You need one cheat day or meal a week. I’m the latter. If I’m going out for dinner or dinner and drinks with my wife and the boys and their wives on a Friday night, I’m carb-ing up. Dangerous game to play, however, because you may need to take a diarrhea while you’re out if you’re used to a high protein/low carb diet otherwise.

So you've got what now -- 17 years of life left? I guess that's about right, Florida will be under water by then anyway.

That one hit close to home, huh? I’ll take 17 years. I’d imagine that’s probably a longer and better quality of life than you have left. And I’d imagine it’s much longer than my fan has left before his heart explodes.

Rule #326 about climate destruction awareness: don't talk to people who live in southern Florida about what's about to happen to them.

I've cut out breads. Potatoes have decent nutritional value so at least for me a little is ok. Russet specifically.

It depends on what kind of bread and how much. I eat organic multigrain bread, makes great French toast and has decent protein content with complex carbs. Some carbs are necessary, it's a matter of balance. The worst you can do is a meal primarily comprising simple carbs, saturated fats and sugars.

balance is the key word there.......and quality

Public service alert here since we have steered off-topic with food talk: I just started a food-and-drink thread in the Pub Forum. Long overdue IMO.

I’m in North Florida. Now that I’m out of South Florida, and anyone I care about is out of South Florida, nature can take it and wash it out into the Atlantic Ocean. We’d lose nothing but New Yorkers and, honestly, that’s fine with me.

You’d lose the generational Cuban refugees, too.

What about AB?

What about him? He’s a brute and has no respect for women. He can wash out too.

Thought you’d get a kick out of this one from a mock draft.

2020 NFL Mock Draft

We could talk for hours about Tua's skill-set or his durability. We could downgrade his production because he had an A1 supporting cast in Alabama. I want to focus on Tua's personality, though; he is an impressive young man. When watching both Tua and Joe Burrow in Pre-Superbowl interviews, the Alabama man was the guy I wanted on my team. TT will undoubtedly impress interviewers at the Combine; he is humble, amiable, and smart.

A lot can change between now and the end of April. We're going to hear a lot of rumors and hot-takes. For me, Tua to the Dolphins seems more of a slam-dunk than Burrow to Cincy. Chris Grier needs to make it happen, whatever it takes. The Alabama man could only be a bust if his hip never fully recovers. I would hope the Dolphins' doctors make a better judgement on Tua's health than they did with Drew Brees all those years ago. One thing is for sure, the Hawaiian QB will never fall short as a human being.

BTW.......it takes 2 lbs of bacon once cooked to get to the recommended daily allowance of cholesterol

That's why I cook my bacon first, then cook the eggs over easy in the bacon fat to get the edges really crispy, THEN pour the bacon fat out of the pan into my coffee. Add a little bourbon to the coffee and you have a perfect breakfast!

Cholesterol is essential to optimal brain function. Although anecdotal only, I have watched friends get stupid after taking statins for years! For instance, they argue with me about the Ideal Gas Law.
