Brady’s Newest Post: What does it mean?

Just in case.

The New England Patriots enter a pivotal offseason. Coming off an uncharacteristically early playoff exit, they have to deal with Tom Brady’s impending free agency.

Over the weekend, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Patriots are willing to pay $30 million a year to bring the 42-year-old Brady back. Rapoport also indicated that Brady wants New England’s assurance that they will upgrade his offensive weapons before he potentially re-signs with them. The Patriots’ lack of dynamic offensive talent proved costly throughout the 2019 season.

Hear that Bill? Open that wallet and sign top-tier WRs and TEs!! NO MORE JAGS!!
:p

Cut the entire defense while you're at it since you won't be able to pay them.

I think we’ve kind of debunked that theory to a certain extent, though. If Brady’s cap hit is structured for 20m dollars (year one), they’d have 30m remaining and the possibility of freeing up another 10m from Sanu and Cannon.

I think it’s safe to say that having 30-40m dollars is on par with what we’d assume to be most “good” offseasons. They can’t afford to spend like drunken sailors, but they can stay active. I could be wrong, but I’m assuming that someone like Collins would be gone no matter what.

I know the figure of 50 million has been thrown around a lot, but things I've seen indicate that their space is closer to 28 mil.

Somebody bottom-line this thread for me: Where is the contract announcement/details?

Thanks

Roughly $1mm for 2 hours of Hulu commercial shoot time.

I don't know if you are joking or not, but I read the Hulu SB budget was $7.5 million for the spot. Considering $5-6 MM went to purchase the ad time, $1MM to Brady sounds feasible.

If Brady and the Patriots kept his future unknown just to play this gag on TV, then we all get a good eye roll. Like when Ralphie had to drink all that Ovaltine to solve his secret decoder message.

one can only imagine the "They went to Jarrett" jewelry commercials.

If I'm Tom and the Niners approach me, I'm seriously considering it...they could cut Jimmy G and it's only a 4.5 million cap hit.

wonder why this post this AM from jules

Probably the stories about moving trucks at the Brady mansion.

I would legitimately laugh my ass off if Brady took JAG’s job out there. Then I’d cry.
