He through 1 int that impacted the game.

The other one is the equivalent of brady throwing an int to bob sanders to end the 06 afc title game

A throw he never would of made had he not had to get down the field in 20 seconds for a td

Brady fumble to end that eagles superbowl was far more impactful than this useless int by jimmy

Anyone who says otherwise loves the taste of coolaid

2006 AFCCG interception was at midfield with 24 seconds left and 1 timeout left (I just looked it up). I wouldn’t say didn’t impact the outcome. We were driving...likely 75% we lose but still.

The 49ers D Coordinator lost it....play of the game was that 3rd and 19 and for some dumb @$$ reason decided to call zone....Hill found a nice spot for a 1st down and stole the momentum in the process. A punt by KC there and game is over.

They lost the game on offense. That one drive before right before the Chiefs went ahead, all they had to do is run the ball and run down the clock. But on second and five, they threw the ball for an incompletion which forced them to throw the ball on third down for another incompletion.

Brady wins the title if he's got Mahomes' weapons. Mahomes doesn't get past his first playoff game if he's got Brady's weapons.

The spread was just that wide.

You really going to argue 2019 Brady is better than Mahomes? Really?!? Mahomes is CURRENTLY the best QB in the NFL and it really isn’t debatable. I’d take Brady four or five years ago over Mahomes, but Brady started to show a decline last year with better weapons than this year.

Better weapons really? An aging gronk who wasn’t the gronk of old. You have missed what he did against the chargers and the chiefs before that. The rams had an excellent defensive game plan and took away James White. Mahomes has an excellent cast around him. Let’s him do well with some of those guys gone

Jimmy is a FRAUD

People here have been crying about his departure like he is Bambino Garoppolo. His play is erratic and the signs have been there that he doesnt step up in big games. How does your franchise QB only complete 6 passes for 77 yards in the NFCC vs Rogers and Green Bay?

The best QB in that division now and until further notice is Russell Wilson.

I don’t think that never change despite the 49ers winning the division. Russell is better than jimmy.

Im sure all the nonsense will start up again the minute it looks like sf can win another sb. But the fact is a decision had to be made and thus far it looks like the absolute correct one. Last years title DOES NOT happen without Brady and his clutch td drives in kc. and this year jg had a loaded team that got him to the sb, but when he needed a drive to win he failed. Even the 2001 brady probably wins a sb with this 49er team. Some have it and some dont

We would not have won the SB in 2018 with Garroppolo. Jimmy would have wilted in the AFCCG.

100%

SF ran for 6.4 a carry, and all they had to was run it out. Horrible.

They need more action from the slot and passing to the backs which they can fix. Jimmy is a good quick release short pass qb and they need to exploit it more. He is prone to the yips on extended plays. Maybe that changes but for now with the team they have ... just tweak quick plays.

I didn't watch a single snap of the game, so I'm not commenting on any plays. I'm just commenting on the general notion:

Mahomes didn't get to where he is now in his first year as a starter. JAG did that.
This is not Garoppolo first year as a starter.

1 - SF led by Jimmy kicked FGs when you need TDs. FGs are not going to be good enough vs an explosive offense like KC.

2 - Shanahan has no confidence in Jimmy. Not last week in the NFCC and not with 1:30 left on the clock and all 3 timeouts. With a Brady, Wilson, Rogers you shoot for 7 points. SF was afraid to give the ball back to KC. In this case a FG is acceptable. SF was getting the ball in the 2nd half. A Pats trademark is scoring twice.

3 - Jimmy and the SF did not sustain drives converting only 3 out of 8 on 3rd down conversions. Which led to KC running 21 more plays than SF and time of possession in KCs favor for 7 minutes +.

This was a bad matchup for Jimmy. I predicted that he could not keep up with Mahomes.

I didn't read through this thread but I read enough to realize it was just another opportunity for Pats fans to show they are much smarter than coaches and are great at identifying the errors of players.

I prefer to give credit to Steve Spagnuolo, Brendan Daly, Chris Jones and the rest of the defense. Also the Chiefs OL for keeping the middle pretty clean. Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins.

I will join in on condemnation of the officials. Was there even one holding call on a run play? Jimmy G gets a helmet to the head twice, and a submarine tackle once for no call. DB arm bars Kittle who pushes him away and gets penalized. Sanders manhandled, no call. Regardless of that, KC made the plays and SF didn't.

Interesting game.

Everybody knows you have to keep Mahomes from breaking outside. In the post season his first down scrambles were killers.

I hope TB and Pats beat Chiefs next year.

Starter yes. Carry a team to the super bowl no. Basically played like Tannehill with a better defense. The 49ers may not even extend JG.

Throwing up an interception with his eyes closed.

Stop it, your hatred of the guy is making you look silly. That photo close-up presents an incomplete image -- he was in the process of throwing when hit, causing his eyes to shut reflexively. He rushed the pass but didn't close his eyes and then throw the ball. He was a top-10 quarterback who led his team to the Super Bowl in his first full season as an NFL starter and was the game's MVP through more than three quarters. You're wishing hard for him to be a failure but reality suggests otherwise.

I'm not a Jimmy G fan but was rooting for him to take home the ring (over the Chiefs.)

Half the guys here hate Jimmy G, b/c to them he is a symbol of "premature" belief that with Brady over 40 and a legit NFL talent on the bench, it was time.

Half the guys here hate Mahomes because somebody has annointed him the chosen one (Making Brady "yesterday's news.") In fact last night when he actually won something, the mediots were already saying now he's the face of the NFL*... yeah sure, as long as he doesn't win too much :D

All of this revolves around Brady being the identity of the Pats. I'm a Patriots fan. I don't hate either of these guys. I wanted Jimmy G to win because he sat behind Brady all those years. I would have rooted for Mallet, Hoyer, Cassel, or Brissett for the same reason.

And I am sorry sunshine, we might still be getting our vicarious diamond ring moments from Brady next year, or we might go to Jarrett. Right now, no telling. All we know is that either way, we will be the N.E. Patriots. Not the Bradys, the Patriots.
1) wish I had more than one “winner” to give that post
2) not Brissett. Nothing against him but I will never root for the Colts to win anything.

The Garoppolites remind me of the Bledsholes. Both groups thought that another QB could do what Brady does.
None of them ever said JG would ever be as good as Brady. They said he’d (a) be good enough to keep the team in the hunt for deep playoff runs and (b) be around for years after Brady had to hang up the cleats.

I don't hate the guy. I hate the narrative that he should have or could have been Brady's replacement. If the timing was right then sure but a 43 year old Brady is still better than JG is now.

I agree that JG closed his eyes reflexively but I thought it was funny so I added it.

Better weapons than this past season? Yes. Gromk on his last legs was infinitely better than what the Pats had at TE this year. Last year's offensive weapons were not anywhere close to the most talented offenses Brady had to work with and in fact it was one of the worst, but it was better than this year.

Brady was inconsistent down the stretch and there were definite signs that his deep ball accuracy was declining. Deep ball accuracy isn't . talent around him thing.
