PFT...Brady to the Dolphins Rumors Gaining Steam

The other place you could see Brady playing is where he is living now. And they have a new ex-patriots coach. And a QB that could clearly use 2-3 years of sitting and learning.

There are several possibilities. Just look at team who could either

Need a starter
Could use an upgrade
Could use a mentor

and would be willing to give at least 2 years on a deal.

As of right now

Tits
Chargers
Raiders
Broncos
Bengals
Cowboys
Redskins
Vikings
Bears
Lions
Bucs
Panthers
Jets
Giants
Saints
Jags
Colts

would all be teams that should at least inquire, if Brady gets to free agency and they haven't made any changes by then.

if he goes to the dolphins i hope we destroy him every time we play him

but he wont

Stephen Ross:
“I’ve heard he’s going to be a free agent, but we’re not allowed to talk to him until sometime in March and we’re a team now that’s building. I don’t know why he’d really want to come to the Dolphins. He’s probably one of the fiercest competitors there is and we’re at the stage with the Dolphins where we’re trying to build a team for the future.”

How's Tom's español?

But he ain't going to any of those places because Giselle won't go. Giselle in Tennessee? :D

Giselle's put up with Boston for this long. She can handle these other places for a couple of years. It's not as if she has to stay there all year long.

He's had a bad time every season in Miami.

Not sure if that "issue" would follow him if he was their QB.

Miami also would put Brady and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, in much closer proximity to Costa Rica (where the family has a home) and Brazil (Bundchen’s native country).

Lol. Not one of Florio’s better takes. o_O

Spot on. It’s less than ten hours direct from NYC to Rio and about 8 from Miami. Big deal.

1 month in Tennessee will feel like 3 years in Boston...

The only teams besides us that I could see having a chance at Brady's services are teams that are both reasonably competitive and having a need at QB.

That's a pretty short list, since most competitive teams have a QB.

One team to at least look at is the Colts. Jacoby Brissett didn't wow them and is on the last year of his deal. They fell to 7-9 after being on a 10 win pace at the half, so there's some talent there. They have a youngster with promise but a few "head problems" that they've got on a slow burn on the lower end of their depth chart and there's a lot of rumors about whether they will pursue a QB in the top rounds or whether they're looking to upgrade other areas as a top prioritiy, such as DL or TE and let Chad Kelly develop behind a professional journeyman starter.

The thing is that taking over the Colts would appeal to Brady's sense of competitiveness more than just about any other NFL franchise. Assuming Brees isn't done next year and the Saints are out of the picture as a result, the thought of winning with Peyton's old team would actually be very attractive to a competitor like TB12.

They may decide to draft a QB and take themselves out of the running but if they chose to do it, the Colts could probably get something done.

I'll believe this when he's seen shopping for an aluminum palace at Swampside Trailer Park, and taking his kids in for lobotomys.

That is a great argument but Rivers is going to the Colts instead of Tom.

I just can’t see proximity to Brazil as being a factor. I checked google and Boston is ~4,850 miles from Rio. Miami is ~4,200 miles from Rio. Are you really going to upend your lives for a relatively minor gain?

Tom Brady to Miami rumors keep gaining steam

Play a few years and then slide into part ownership.
“Part ownership” is something which I’ve also heard some say Kraft should offer him (I mean, there’s a whole thread on that issue right now).... but I really haven’t seen anyone explain how such a thing would be legal under the cap.

Edit: Upon rereading the article, it says the (theoretical) new owner would be “selling” a slice of the team to Brady. So while I guess that doesn’t have cap ramifications, I don’t see where the incentive is to say to Brady “play for me and I’ll sell you something!”

Why on earth would the colts take Rivers over Brady? You're soft in the head if you think they'll prefer Captain Also-Ran and his amazing powers of completely disappearing when it really matters, over a guy who has literally redefined what it is to be a clutch football player. Especially because Captain Also-Ran is also on the back 9

I mean, give me the choice between a 38 year old who's done literally nothing, and a 42 year old who's won the Superbowl 6 times, and I'm not taking the 38 year old.

I might not take Brady either, but if I'm not taking Brady, it's probably for reasons that rule Rivers out too (no big money for old players, or drafting a young guy, or see promise in one of Jacoby Brissett and Chad Kelly)
