Why do people hate Travis Kelce?

Okay, I get it now.

In fairness, I think a lot of it is based on stupid media takes overrating him. It’s not like Kelce is saying “I could be a great blocker.” But yeah, I can see why his arrogant, frat boy attitude rubs people the wrong way. I just think when it comes to his antics, there are players on most teams that are really c0ccky.

Many players will whine at the refs now and then. Kelce whines all the time though. That's enough for me to dislike him.

I agree that the media has an impact on the perception some folks have of him, but he earned my dislike without their help.

I remember the early years of Inside the NFL. My favorite years were those with Len Dawson and Nick Buoniconti. Each hour was 5 minutes of ads, 15 minutes of great football talk and 40 minutes of the best highlights.

Now we get 40 minutes of nonsense from a half dozen blowhards, 15 minutes of ads and 5 minutes of replays, which may or may not be what you'd call highlights.

Other than a worse quality of film, it was much better way back in the beginning.

I've enjoyed the show for a few years but this year it seemed to go a bit down hill. I like that they have a mix of personalities on the show, but when they get too many egomaniacs on at one time the show really tanks hard. A few of them seem to think that the only way to get their point across and "win" the debate is by getting really loud, then standing up and getting super animated like they're on the verge of having a psychotic episode

They constantly try to talk over each other, etc... they need a better mix, it doesn't work when you have Brandon Marshall, Ray Lewis and Michael Irvin all trying to scream over each other for 40 minutes, puffing their chest with a "Oh yea, well I could pummel you right now so I'm right!" attitude

Sometimes they can pull it off, but its short lived and infrequent. Phil Simms is pretty funny, he can be quite the diva at times but is usually a voice of reason. James Brown is the classiest and most well spoken person on the show by far tho, he's great!

Because he’s not on our team.

he seems to talk a lot and is overhyped because of his stats but mostly doesnt come through in the clutch and drops critical passes. in other words he cant take over the game like gronk here

I don't get the KC hate in general. Hill is a POS, sure but you'd be pretty naive to think every team doesn't have creeps on the roster. Couldn't be bothered by Kelce.
I don't know how else to take besides insecurities? They're not big rival. A blast to watch. Idk I honestly think people are threatened which is a shame. No one is on or approaching what we've done. It's good to watch good football besides NEP. How exactly do you learn or become familiar with other players, concepts & systems?
Nothing wrong with only watching or appreciating NEP but it's ok to be a football fan too. Its only sports, not that big of a deal.

As an original Pats fan and AFL supporter, I'm a fan of the Chiefs. Have been since they won their SB a half century ago. After all, they helped end the NFLers ridiculing of the AFL.

There's also the fact that the Hunt family dollars helped keep the AFL and the Pats afloat in the beginning. If not for that we might all be getting force fed Giants games.

And lets not forget that a Chiefs win this year would finally even up the SB series between the AFC and NFC. The Pats had the last chance in 2017 when they lost to the Eagles and the Chiefs have a shot now. It's been a long, long time since the NFC got the edge with a crazy run of 13 straight in the 80's and early 90's.

But then there's Hill. And let's not forget Suggs. How can I root for them? I can't with a good conscience.

Because he acts entitled, yet hasn't won ****.

For the same reason we root against Manning. When you're guy is arguably the best, you root against the main challenger.

Manning was this to Brady

Kelce was this to Gronk

I saw some really stupid comments by the immensely overrated Sammy Watkins today. He might take a year off after the season if he feels like it or maybe he’ll “build another Super Bowl team.” Lol. This is a guy who every team has overpaid badly for.

I don’t love Kelce, but I think he has said on numerous occasions he’s not Gronk. Just saying, arrogant ****iness isn’t just limited to this dude, but for whatever reason people get really mad watching him. Imagine if he made a comment like Slammin Sammy?

He also had a short lived reality tv dating show which in and of itself is SUPER douchey

For me respect him as a player, but just seems like a huge Douche of a personality on and off the field.

I hope Shanahan shuts out Kelce today
