Per WEEI's Christian Fauria, he says he's hearing the Coach Scar has retired, but the official announcement has yet to be made.

Sucks, but the man has more than earned it. If a position coach ever deserved a spot in Canton, it's him.

What an amazing offseason we are having.

Belichick - Scar - Adams ... to me the backbone of it all.

One gone ...

You forgot Mayo. And the non-basketball Popovich.

Oh, I just figured both guys got head coaching jobs, or will within the next few days.

If this is true, I hope Dante enjoys his retirement. Also, if this is true, I look forward to watching the homers painting this as a good thing.

I thought Scar had a pretty awful year last year along with McD. Might be good for a change.

Well deserved Scar one of the best damn coaches one of many changes to occur this season.
I feel like we really should of hired Welker as a WR coach look how great the Niners receivers are all playing.
Sure there’s talent but he has to be doing something right.

Perfect! We can resign Brady and also hire him as the line coach so he can make more money. Beautiful.

The team got 4 more years out of him than they had expected. Despite knowing he was going to retire, the team seemed to be caught off guard last time and reeled in Googs apparently at the last minute (he had accepted another job). That worked out so well, they coaxed Dante out of retirement 2 years later.

Hopefully this time they actually prepared; all the stories at the time made it sound like Popovich was being groomed as the successor so it appears they were. Now let’s just hope he can do a decent job.
