Rumor from a friend in the know...

I don’t think anyone is making the claim that they should take a QB on day one unless Tua falls into their laps. In that case? Yes, they should absolutely take Tua. Without question. But that won’t happen.

My bad, I thought the Allen mentioned was a QB.

A good Boston sports player ... can’t get any more detailed than that... again I am taking it with a grain of salt and I won’t back it with a guarantee but this is what I was told. I don’t want to get anyones hopes up but this is what was told to me.

You can’t get more specific than “Good Boston sports player”? It’s not a though we could guess the player based upon his team, like... “Plays for the Red Sox, huh? Ok, who gave Benintendi the peach schnapps again?”

Sounds unlikely to me, based upon Brady’s recent inteviews/comments. Also, what does “team friendly cap number” mean? 20 mill?25? I assume they would minimize the 2020 cap hit and take their cap lumps the following year, after the new CBA and TV contracts are signed.

I’m part of the small but vocal minority here who thanks Brady for his outstanding service, but is ready to move on.

There are other QBs that are Day 1 worthy, including Herbert and Love, both of whom will likely be gone by the time the Pats pick. Love is the more realistic option at 23 but his stock is rising with his senior bowl performance.

I'd wait this year, and push in all my chips for Lawrence next year.

If you NEED to get someone this year, get Jake Fromm in the 3rd or 4th, and let he and Stidham fight to the death.

What chips? Pats aren't going to have enough draft capital to get Lawrence...

Unless he falls to earth or the team with the #1 pick already has its franchise QB (seems unlikely), the Pats have no shot at Lawrence, I don’t care how many chips they use to splash the pot.

I see a lot of stuff I like and could work with in Eason, though. If this rumor is true, they could draft Eason and throw him into the competition with Stidham this year. Eason is raw and needs some work/hands-on coaching like Stidham did when he came here, but there is some tremendous upside there.
Combining Patriots, QB and Eason together gives me a bad feeling for some reason. I'd be happier if we found a Grogan over an Eason. :p

2 things!!!
1. If you didn't want to get our hopes then why did you post this?????
2. If you prove to be wrong WE WILL COME FOR YOU WITH BLAZING TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS!!!!!

Has Sharks of Vegas confirmed this yet?

I like this rumor so it must be true

If Brady returns why would Pats consider drafting a 1st round QB?

Are you saying Stidham is a bust without even giving him a chance?
Because he's not going to be there by the end of a rookie contract so you might as well still prepare. If Brady still wants to go after 44-45 at least at that point you can see if you have something worth going with and at that age you can feel comfortable in getting more out of him than Brady

Was kind of hoping the Oregon qb was gonna fall into trading range but his senior bowl has been really good so far.

Get in line for Lawrence. There’s no waiting there and whoever has the first pick is either going to get a kings ransom that will set a team back years worth of draft choices, or they are just going to take him.

Even with the worst qb in the league the Patriots would do no worse than 6-10 7-9 as long as Belichick is coaching.

Great! Let’s do the press conference Monday morning after the Super Bowl when they do their little recap/MVP thing and see which gets covered more

I don’t see him getting past Miami, so it’s a moot point. I see a lot of stuff I like and could work with in Eason, though. I can't get over that name...I think I have PTSD...Greatest QB draft in NFL history and we get Eason...I don't think I could do it...
