It wasn’t a bad call at all. It only looks that way in retrospect because of the result, which (interception on a pass at the one) was so rare that it was the first time that it had happened all year in the NFL, and happened due amazing study and preparation in practice and execution by our cornerback.

Lynch was only 1 for 5 from the 1 yard line that year and the Pats had already stopped him on a 3rd and 1.

I think Carroll has held Wilson back to some extent by insisting on being a run-first team despite rotating through a cast of miserable castoffs at running back and a questionable offensive line.
