Report: Browns Hire Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski

The Patriots job following the best coach of all time and 20 years of dominance without a proven quarterback is worse than the Cleveland job, why would anyone want to follow Bill?

All due respect, you are asking the wrong question. Considering this next HC will be his 7th since 2012 the question is why would anyone that doesn't need the money want to work for Jimmy Haslam?

Josh to baltimore confirmed.

I imagine big odds swing in favor of Brady returning to NE.
Yeah, frankly that’s my biggest concern about this. I assume Belichick had someone like Charlie Weis or Chad O’Shea on speed dial if he left (O’Shea was going to be taking on his role if not the title if he kept the Indy job). But having McDaniels around can only be a positive in the attempt to retain Brady.

The Stefanski hire signals to me that Paul DePodesta is running the show in Cleveland. DePodesta wanted Stefanski last year over Kitchens. #Browns

I am not sure Josh would have taken this job, looks like the HC in Cleveland does not have much say in player decisions etc, Josh would never have been happy in that situation. He would have wanted more control !

Haurbaugh was on the hot seat last year, basically fired at seasons end until they went on that run when they benched Flacco for Jackson.

This year they flamed out again and if next year with high expectations they flameout I expect him to be fired.

That's the job for josh.

Great news! This involved many facets

We keep our OC
We keep a lot of the coaching personel he would haven taken with him
We have a better chance of signing our FA’s that he could of over paid for
Brady keeps his guy

let' see...personally i do not think so...

This forum says that for every job he doesn't get, what job does he think he's going to get?

If the job was so great it wouldn't need a coach.

Cleveland you're a hero if you win 9 games.
True, but success starts at the top. Haslam doesn't seem like an owner who has any idea what he's doing. He's no Victor Kiam, but I think it's perfectly reasonable to question if Cleveland is a desirable opportunity due to his ownership.

Chris

I’m convinced Josh is actually black balled over the Indy thing.
If he was black balled he wouldn't have gotten as many interviews and the Browns certainly wouldn't have waited on him.

Realistically, McCarthy, Rivera, and Rhule to a certain extent were more attractive candidates. Judge and Stefanski are the questionable picks. But realistically the Browns and Giants aren't known for good decisions.

If they fire Harbaugh they’d deserve everything that’s coming. He’s had nothing but a solid track record of success even during time periods when Newsome’s drafts started getting weak.

So, there’s been nothing confirmed by anyone then? You’re simply speculating that a coach who just went 14-2 might be fired, should he fail to go deep into the postseason in 2020?

So here's my hot take. With McDaniels likely staying, if Brady does not come back to the Patriots, he was never considering it to begin with.

If he thought the job was as bad as everyone here claims then he wouldn't of wanted it.
There are only 32 of these jobs. Josh may have very well thought the job was bad, but also did the math and math won out.

Regards,
Chris

But in another perspective, he’s a big winner, since he’s not the head coach of the Cleveland Browns.
He’s still in the running to coach the Browns in 2021

You heard it here first.

Hes been a good coach but 1 superbowl doesnt buy you a forever job. If they are one and done next season they will turn the page with a new coach.

Jackson has no whete to go but down after the year he just had so they're gonna have plenty of sky is falling post over on whatever forum ravens fans congregate at.

What he is referring to is last year at the bye they were 4-5 after missing the playoffs 4 of the previous 5 years. I think sneaking into the playoffs saved his job and this year solidified it but he was definitely on the hot seat.

Hopefully this convinces Scar to stay another year.
