Running QBs get hurt more because in addition to having a roughly equal chance to be injured on pass plays they also act as a running back while the non running QB hands off and watches the play with zero chance of injury. This is simply common sense. Both running and pocket passers get hurt but it causes more problems for the running QB. Brady's been banged up over the years and can still perform at a high level.
You are also correct that a mobile qb is more likely to need to change his game due to being banged up than a pocket passer.
