Titans @ Ravens thread

Both running and pocket passers get hurt but it causes more problems for the running QB. Brady's been banged up over the years and can still perform at a high level.
Running QBs get hurt more because in addition to having a roughly equal chance to be injured on pass plays they also act as a running back while the non running QB hands off and watches the play with zero chance of injury. This is simply common sense.
You are also correct that a mobile qb is more likely to need to change his game due to being banged up than a pocket passer.

This is something you will never read when hearing about how a team shutdown Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Mahomes, Marino, Montana, or really any all-time great QB. They beat him by making him pass the ball to receivers, none of whom could have a lot of coverage help due to all the men needed to take away the run.

The Ravens put up 530 yards of offense and punted like 1 total time. Terrible post. This is like saying the Pats lost the Superbowl to Philly because Brady got shut down.

I’ll chat Lamar with you in a few weeks or whenever. Honestly I don’t like the racist undertones in this thread and don’t want to be a part of it (if they are in fact here and this isn’t a diversion.). I would be saying the same things about a white QB who I think has accuracy issues, but I think this this is all starting to blend together. I thought last postseason he was figured out to the point he would hit a brick wall this season. I was obviously wrong about that. I still think he lacks the tools that a long term successful QB has, but I guess we’ll see.

I will tell you I @‘d you earlier not to rub it in but to say, “okay, now is the time” to watch because he was down 14-0 and was going to have to rely on his passing skills, and this is where I’m skeptical. And I feel like that is exactly the point I’ve been trying to make about him. Not that he will occasionally struggle like all quarterbacks, but specifically he will lack the accuracy to bring the team back. Mahomes, Watson, and others, I don’t feel like that’s a problem with them.

Speaking of Watson, that he doesn’t receive much skepticism might help to resolve that many criticizing Jackson are not racist. Watson has NFL passing skills and NFL accuracy, even though he is incredibly athletic and can run, too.
There absolutely racist undertones in the thread by well known members and it's pretty sad tbh.

I've been saying since I first wrote abt him that he needed to improve. Most notably outside the #'s.
The problem is there's always been false narratives told abt him.
1)He can't read a defense. Even though he moves his head like a clock when given time. He can go through his progressions with ease.
2)He can't run a pro style offense. Even though he's run two different offenses since college to a very high degree. He ran a variation of the EP in college and then turned around an ran Romans in the pro. How easy is that?

These are 2 of the bs narratives that's thrown around abt him along with racist bs like in this thread.
I can guarantee you he's donated more to charity then most on this forum. And a lot more that's not talked abt.

Anyway speaking of Watson since you brought him up I'll end on this.

A look at both of there 2nd year.

Jackson - 265/401 3127 66.1% cmp - 36 TD/6 INT - 9.0 TD% - 7.8 Y/A - 8.9 AY/A - 11.8 Y/C - 8.19 ANY/A - 23 Sacks/5.4 Sack %

Btw again that 9.0 TD% has only been done twice in the modern era (Rodgers/Manning)

Also brought his team to the playoffs twice. MVP this year.

Watson - 345/505 4165 68.3 cmp% - 26 TD/9INT - 5.1 TD% - 8.2 Y/A /8.5 AY/A - 62 Sacks/10.9 Sack % - 6.87 ANY/A

At least I have the same concerns about any QB like that, skin color be damned. Tebow included. And I don't know if you can get much whiter.

Did you watch the game?

Crapshoot makes it sound as though there was something random about it. There was nothing at all random about it, they got beat by a team that was better prepared with a better plan.

Playoffs are a crapshoot. The Ravens who had won 12 straight and were statistically the best team since the 2007 Patriots, basically get blown out by a 9-7 six seed

I must be drunker than I thought. I edited e post then posted the exact same thing again

passing league. lol
more than one way to skin a cat.

You don’t have to look far. I’ve (and many Pats fans) have been saying Josh Allen is a train wreck being protected by schemes for some time. Huge accuracy problems...can run the ball well for a QB. No one thinks it will last. Doesn’t seem like he’s a smart enough QB to manipulate a defense and doesn’t have the accuracy either...similar stuff with Mitch Trubisky. Many doubts about Johnny Manziel before he started...beyond the personal issues, there was plenty to doubt about his dual threat game and skepticism about it translating to the NFL. Even Carson Wentz is getting quite a lot of skepticism for his ability to stay healthy because he scrambles too much and clearly can’t take the beating, after looking in year 2 like Superman.

This is really a football thing, not a race thing. It’s unfortunate that has been dragged into this. I reserve the right to criticize and hate on ALL QBs that aren’t Tom Brady, whatever their race. And I do.

I wouldn’t mind if ten steamrolled through the rest of the playoffs and we were their toughest game. I think sf is going to take it though, rather not because they would tie us.

Better the 49ers than the Packers or Chiefs. Though I would prefer the Texans, Titans, or Seahawks

Without looking at the numbers, just off the top of my head (to illustrate @Ring 6 ’s point that you probably didn’t watch the game), three turnovers by Jackson (one fumble, two picks), I think four turnovers on downs (two stuffed on 4th and short, and I think two more on fourth and long incompletions.).

So yeah, plenty of empty yards the Titans gladly gave them to run the clock down. And then seven turnovers. That’s why there weren’t many punts. Talk about misleading stats.

Lamar Jackson is the greatest talent this league has ever seen? HUH? Empirical evidence would be nice instead of narcissistic foot stamping and race baiting. Mike Vick was FASTER,far more accurate, went to the playoffs and WON...but Lamar Jackson is better because...uh...OK...let's try a different tact...Cam Newton is 6'5 1/2 inch 4.5 speed with an accurate rocket arm that was next to impossible to stop on 4th and one...oh wait...no let's not bring that up either....how about THIS player----------------->

what's the use...I could go on busting you up like the punch drunk social justice mope you are...the truth is Lamar Jackson was the LOSING QB on a team favored by 9.5 points, losing by 16. Your delusion is stupefying.

Cunningham was a fun player to watch.

Vick was not the most accurate (though probably more so than Jackson) but had an absolute laser arm and was the fastest QB ever and one of the fastest players. Jackson is better at quickly hitting top speed and picks up a lot of chunk yards. Vick needed more room to accelerate, but once he hit top gear it really looked like a video game.

Funny how many dumb Twitter-ers believe the recent “mobile”QBs are a revolution to the NFL and the pocket passer era is over. If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard that one. Funny thing is Mahomes and Watson are classic QBs. They scramble to buy time in the pocket are ultimately passers and not runners because they look to pass first and have the skills to dissect a defense through the air. Rodgers and Wilson are pretty similar too. Jackson is more like Cunningham or Vick.

Russell Street Ravens Forum is a 404 Page Not Found right now. Lol.

It seems you drool when you're sleeping and awake? This is what you come up with? LOL you have no clue what you're talking abt and called him a "scumbag" for that hit. Means a lot coming from a racist.

I remember when you talked yourself up saying how much you know/learned abt football at BU? Yet you display absolutely none of it in your post. None.

You don't breakdown any film. Any plays, techniques etc. Just drool like this. Seriously you said these guys were more accurate? Sit down. Or please go on bc I have no problem making you look like the fool you are.

Evidence....

Cam Newton has completed > 60% cmp 3 times in 9 years. Highest ANY/A 7.20. 59% career

Mike Vick completed exactly > 60% cmp twice in 10 + years. 56% career

You’re really going to use completion percentage to measure accuracy? Tom Brady will tell you that’s a flawed method that no longer makes sense.
