Titans @ Ravens thread

What did I tell you guys about the Titans? I told you all before the playoffs that they were the best team in the NFL. Lots of geeks here disagreed, but whether you like it or not, Tennessee is winning SB54.

That's a fact. I said that prior to the wildcard game.

Pats win that game, and they mop the floor with KC, BAL, and whichever team comes out of the NFC.

Now, it'll be the Titans who run the table.

I said the Titans were by far the hardest opponent for the Patriots, and that if they got by Tennessee, they would cruise to the Super Bowl, which they certainly would have. But they didn't get by Tennessee.

You sound salty about my flawless prognostication skills, squirt.

You gonna be ok there, little guy?

Well, so far you called it

He literally just turned 23 & was the MVP this year.

And if you know what you're talking about he was hardly the reason they lost tonight.

He was great but idk if that RPO offense is gonna win a super bowl. He’s gonna have to be more of a passer once he gets older .

I have a feeling it's going to be Houston vs TEN and some fans will be missing us already. The NFC is already wrapped up, no chance GB or SEA (injuries) goes into SF and wins. If either of those teams does it will be a bigger upset than what happened tonight.

Zero playoff wins since the Edelman pass game

Harbaugh was right to go for it on those 4th downs. They just didn't work out. The math says you should nearly always go for it on 4th down and coaches are way to conservative. I agree. You need to play to win at this time of year.

Not to mention the way he built his team. He built an offense that specialized on gaining 1-2 yards if they really need it. I wouldn't fault him for those calls at all.

IIRC, it basically boils down to always go for it if you're between the 20s AND have less than 4th-and-10.

This post game analysis is dumb. Trying to blame the loss on random things like Mark Ingram not being healthy. It’s simple guys: Everything the Ravens do falls apart when they have to play from behind.

Also to be honest, The titans are probably the most physical team in the NFL right now and they can simply bulldoze teams. The Ravens got punched in the mouth tonight and did not like it.

Take that Earl Thomas

Not exactly but pretty close. 4th and 4-5 is what they say in most situations IIRC between the 20s. Sometimes more and sometimes less.

This wasn’t a game you could take lightly and they thought they’d show up and just win.

Vrabel sounds like they lost lol

This is why threads like 'can't stop the Ravens' are chicken little crap. In the playoffs it's high competition, where not bringing your A game, where being unable to figure out and put in adjustments, where an opponents shifts to another gear, many things can send the favorite home.
That's why even for the Patriots (what may have been), as bad as they looked, they win just one game at a time in the playoffs, just convert a single FG against Tenn to win, then worry about what happens next week. IMHO is doing just that, one game at time.

Has any all road team beat the #3 seed, #1 seed and #2 seed to get to the SB? I'm assuming (IF KC wins) if Tenn can beat KC they'll have pulled off that pretty rare accomplishment.

Pittsburgh in 2005.

Titans are just a much better team now that Mariota is out. They always had the D and a solid run game, other teams could just key on it. If they can pass, even if just a little they are better. Not better than the Ravens typically but better than a typical 9-7 team. Not a super bowl caliber team IMO though.

KC will represent the AFC I think. I hope they don't win though cause I HATE HILL. And Kelce is a punk.

Eh. I think the whole mathematical approach to 4th downs doesn't tell the whole story. Especially in elimination games. Not only that, the punishment for failure is very, very, very harsh - especially in a playoff game.

It's kinda like flying. Yeah, I may statistically be less likely to crash. But when I do, it's tremendously terrible.

Not outright disagreeing with you, but I have always thought this when someone mentions the whole "math says go for it."

The math is stupid. Tonight was an excellent idea of why that is. The math ignores context. That's a strength at times, but a fatal weakness when it comes to game analysis.

Jackson is an absolute idiot. Embarrassing post-game interview.

I think if Chiefs win tomorrow, the Titans beat that defense up and are in the superbowl

Don’t do this to yourself.
Do what?

Again you have no idea what you're talking abt Ice. The next time you provide anything worthwhile will be the first. You don't explain or breakdown anything. Couldn't tell me anything abt any philosophy or w/e.
Just a rah-rah fan that isn't objective & already made up his mind. Like when you said this ...
"He’ll be out of that starter job within a year".

Unreal that the titans are headed to the afc championship game with tannehill throwing for 160 passing yards combine in both games. I think they will need a passing game against the next opponent.
