If true, Josh is lucky. Giants are schisse show anyway. Might even be worse than Cleveland.

How should Josh react?

Perhaps, he'll accept an assistant HC job, if doesn't get a HC job. That is considered a promotion. I believe Scar was given that job at one point.

People making mountains out of a molehill. Nobody knows the context. Could it be that BB has meetings planned with McD to evaluate and plan strategy that he doesn’t want to reschedule and lose time on? Something like that would be much more important with the OC than with ST coach.

I am all about free speech, but there are proven con artist “reporters.” I don’t think there’s a worse one than JLC, especially since he has the credentials to appear to be a credible, mainstream journalist. I’d trust Incarcerated Bob before him.

If true, it might appear to be a crappy thing to do to a long-time assistant. But, the Patriots have been, reportedly, paying McDaniels a Head Coach’s commensurate salary for the past two seasons and are, more than likely, guaranteed to do so for another 2 or 3 seasons at least.

The Pats caught a “break” having to play on wild card weekend allowing them to set The timing of McDaniels’ interview schedule this week. I don’t blame them for not allowing those times be pushed up after the Titans loss. They were just trying to protect an asset they paid considerably to keep two years ago and would like to keep, if possible, through the balance of his contract.

He was scheduled to meet with the Giants that same Monday according to the mediots, IIRC, but Bill asked him to finish closing out the season first.

Think he was also scheduled to meet with the Panthers as well.

Does anyone even know the rules for this? The Patriots can't block an assistant from being hired as a HC for another team (even if he is under contract) but what are the rules for interviews? How long can you "block" someone from doing that?

The article is fake news. You can’t tell an assistant when he can interview after your season is over. And if you could it would serve absolutely no purpose and only alienate the guy you would be doing this in order to keep.
