TE Take Cole Kmet in the 1st round?

Seems perfect for our TE issues now imagine if we get him and Howard (if his 5th yr option isn't picked up if it is he'll sign with us in 2021. But if we get Kmet that would be a big step forward then hopefully followed by Howard in '20 or '21.

Dream on! We're taking a kicker...or maybe another gunner if Slater moves on.

2020 doesn't like a very deep or impressive TE class that said who's that Brycen Hopkins??

Idk if him or any other TE of this class are worth a 1st round pick. He isn't a good blocker in the limited film I saw on him.
Maybe the combine change my perception.
Best case scenario would be trade back and get him in the 2nd round.

He also played baseball at Notre Dame and could be an MLB prospect. Imagine if he was drafted by the Knew Kyork Kmets.

In any event, watching those highlights he reminds me of Gronk a bit, not saying he's got to be at that level though

He’s a big target with a nice catch radius. Seems fast enough. Blocking comes down to hard work. His interview could help there. If we get OJ Howard, I’d wait on another TE Draft or sign one later to block.

Kmet just started playing football last year more or less which isn't a knock. 2 sport athlete. Decent blocker but definitely needs work there. Initial hands have to be more accurate and decisive. Smooth player but not overly explosive. Definitely not afraid of contact. Probably my fav thing abt him. Wants to bully guys out there

You can find TE production in the later rounds. If you're going RD1 it should be a special player. Bills were thrilled TJ went before Oliver last year for good reason.

Defenders seem to hit em like he's Gronk also.

Every time I read a draft profile on a TE it's like "Decent receiver but overmatched when asked to block." Presuming we obtain a receiving TE somwhere, are there any good blocking TEs available in the later rounds?

None that truly standout or have a top tier rec/blocking skill set. Deguara from Cinci is decent but has to add weight/get stronger. Doesn't look like a great class tbh

Is this guy really a first rounder? Everything’s gonna depend on what he runs at the combine.

i hope the Pats can sign Hooper or Henry, but those are great candidates for the franchise tag...we may have to go another year without anything good at the TE position

I can’t see that happening but we shall see. They need to get rid of the junk that’s in place here.

He won't outrun anyone but again he's brand new to big boy football. Definitely could get a lil quicker/stronger but won't be confused with a track guy

Would be a shame. Still so pissed abt Goedert. He fit us to a T. He'd be up their with Kittle & Kelce if not for Ertz.

ND has had plenty of good tight ends over the years but they never throw to them enough

Heard on TV about going in the 1st this one mock I read has em late first but don't like that I read that he's not a good blocker that he'll win a few reps against smaller opponents gets overpowered against bigger and stronger opponents and that he should add to his strength. Wonder if we could fixed that but sounds like a 2nd rounder imo but we don't have that don't like that lack of blocking skills.
