Details Emerge On Julian Edelman's Injury Situation
At 33 years old, Edelman caught 100 passes, topped 1,100 receiving yards, and caught six touchdowns. He led the Patriots in all three categories, and he did it all while fighting through shoulder, rib and knee injuries

The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reported that Edelman’s shoulder injury was a separated AC joint.

According to Howe, Edelman may undergo surgery, though it was not specified which injury (or injuries) would require a surgical repair.

Love Jules. Get that man some rest!

And what other injuries does anyone know of?

I have to believe that Mason, Cannon, Snau,
Izzo, and a few others were playing hurt too.

Tough as there is without doubt.
My only question is can he survive another year or 2 as a slot?

The existence of this thread is arguably proof he didn't survive the last one. Maybe not though. I also had reservations about his ability to come back from that 2017 ACL, which was of course dead wrong.

I wouldn't be surprised if Edelman winds up being the Larry Fitz of the Pats and winds up playing deep into his 30s.

Despite everything he was going through last year, he remained the team's WR1, and was the only WR capable of getting open quickly.

How is that not surviving?

Toughest player I’ve seen on a football field.

As far as Patriots players I actually still think that's Drew Bledsoe.

Playing with a life-threatening lung injury. Throwing with a broken finger. Absorbing crazy huge hits due to his immobility in the pocket.

Ouch. Rest up and heal up Jules!

Brady, Edelman, Gronk. Take your pick. They are all as tough as they come when it comes to playing through injuries and not whining about it to the press. And don’t bring up the Gronk medical check stuff; that was an issue about ensuring he was getting the right advice...he played through pain frequently.

Legend!

Is it a stretch to say that the 2nd dynasty run doesn't happen without this guy?

I’ll agree cutting your finger off to stay in a game is about as tough as it gets.
"A Football Life: Ronnie Lott" obliterates this falsehood.

Regards,
Chris

Get this guy healthy.. get some good tightends who can block and catch... Get a speed wr threat and help edelman out

Well, that's why I said "arguably". I'm not the one arguing it.

Not a stretch at all. He was so clutch in SB 49. And the catch in SB 51 will live in Pats lore. His best game was SB 53 imo. If Edelman isn't in that game, there's no way they win. Edelman was the only receiver who could get open. I'll go a step further: The Pats win SB 52 with Edelman in the lineup. They don't miss those chances in the red zone in the first half with him in the lineup.
