Bedard: Belichick “rumblings”

I have a very rich friend who goes to the same country club as some of the Krafts, mainly Jonathan. From what he told me, there has been a power struggle within the Pats organization and Jonathan has slowly, but surely been taking more control of the Patriots operations than BB likes. He(Jonathan Kraft) was the driving force behind the Jimmy G trade and many other personnel decisions that coach BB was against, but overruled by Jonathan, with his fathers backing.

This has created huge animosity between BB and Jonathan, and to a degree...Bob.

It has gone so south, that BB might even be leaving the organization...Let's hope he at least breaks Schulas record first...but I just wanted to share the gossip. It isn't TB12 that we need to worry about leaving...Its BB. You heard it here first.

This completely explains why BB, who always liked the NYG, took the Giants Head Coaching job

How has Kraft been interfering too much in football operations recently?

Good lord, please don't ask such a question on this board. You know where it's going, right?

Hard to believe. I sure hope Jonathan is smarter than this -- not only for what you suggest he allegedly is doing/has done, but for blabbing about it at a freaking country club.

People who go to a country club with famous people always like to talk **** about the famous people. It's meaningless.

Saying this from a modest level of "fame," but the things people post about me on the internet are laugh-out-loud stupid and wrong, and for my more famous friends, it's even worse.

In 1997 while Bill Parcells was getting out of the final year of his Pats contract to take the Jets job, Bill Belichick was initially hired as HC by the Jets to be a placeholder and build a staff while the Jets and Pats ****ered over Parcells.

Everyone knew the score back then, and I’m not saying this is indeed what’s going on, but it is possible that Joe Judge was hired by the Giants to be the placeholder and staff builder while the Pats and Giants negotiate over the compensation needed to free Belichick from his contract and take the Giants job.

He plays chess not checkers. Just remember that. No, I really can’t believe the stoic Giants, of all organizations, fired their 2nd coach in 2 years just to beat out Miss State for the services of Joe Judge.

BB wasn't announced as Jete head coach in the scenario you describe. Joe Judge has been announced as the new Giants head coach.

This will go in the Patsfans Hall of Fame if it turns out to be true.

Bob Kraft truly is losing his scruples if he is allowing Jonathan to control any more than the concession stands and funnel cake vendors.

Jonathan will truly run this whole franchise into the Atlantic ocean.

I found the Giants Judge hire curious from the start.

Yeah, plus the idea that J. Kraft would share such intimate and dramatic details of what's going on inside the Pats at a country club is very hard to believe. Nothing travels faster than gossip at a country club.

Jonathan Kraft's qualifications to run a football operation are limited to his being the son of the owner. Woe betide this franchise if this ***** runs the GOAT coach out of town just as he's losing the GOAT quarterback.

Having met him once, and chatted about some of the nuances in Spygate, my impression was that he's a smart, competent guy. That was just once, of course, but I'm pretty tough on nepotism as a method for choosing leadership and he passed my sniff test.

The offseason is getting off to a good start or appears. Let’s see how creative some of these conspiracy theories get.

A few drinks and people talk. Not hard to believe in the least.

Also, Jonathan has always been in Bobs shadow. You can't show me anything that Jonathan has built or money that he has made without his fathers name and assistance. Does not exist. So, this is very well could be Jr spreading his wings as he ventures from the nest.

Ive been around him too.

He did not say 2 words. He is introverted and not the type who grabs the bull by the horns guy like his pappy.

More often than not that's a positive leadership trait.

I have had season tickets going on 24 years now and I believe that BB is a HUGE reason why the Pats have been so successful. I believe they will still dominate the east and be competitive with or without TB12. I also believe that because of TB12, and his historic clutch ability, the Pats have been so successful...HOWEVER:

Who are you? Can I get an autograph?

You should see what people post on the internet about fnordcircle, also laugh out loud stupid, but in his case true.

There’s always room for one more AB thread. Always.
